Great location . It was right in the heart of ....
They helped made my birthday memorable by supplying cake and a bottle of bubbly. One was greeted every morning in the restaurant. There was always a waitress on hand to help with one's choice of food. If a favourite food was not on display, it could be ordered specifically, i.e. porridge.
Reception staff Tanjii & Palesa and manager Deewald were most friendly & helpful - they are really caring types of people, such a joy to be around with. They could sense our insecurity & uncertainty about going around in a new place, and went out of their way to offer help...thank you!!
Good hotel for a base but area had seen better day
Hotel was very good in a area that felt at first a little intimidating but overall was ok. Advised not to walk around at night and get a taxi. We had an issue with the Adderley car park as we were clamped without warning as we had parked in what we thought was an Adderley space but turned out to be private. Warning notices appeared the day after we parked and no warning was given about the clamping.
Hotel is tired but the staff are excellent and make up the difference. Anything that was requested was carried out immediately with great humour and friendliness!!

Big impressive room with mosquitoes!
Big impressive rooms, but with quite a few mosquitoes. If carry machine to avoid mosquitoes, then ok. Internet very slow. Area good bcz of shopping and restaurant, bad bcz of the front street not safe as many beggers and jobless people move around. Strictly Avoid moving alone after 6pm.

Good sized room with lounge and kitchenette, extremely friendly staff and in a pretty good location with just a short taxi drive to the waterfront and within waling distance of shops , bars and restaurants. Hotel is a little tired in some areas and in need of a little updating.
This hotel is located just two blocks off Long street, at the end of Adderley road adjacent to the Slave Lodge museum and VOC Gardens. It is a great location that allows guests to easily walk to the nightlife of Cape Town and also visit many museums on foot without the need of a car or taxi. It is about a 5 minute drive from the Waterfront and a 10 minute dive from Table Mountain. The hotel also offers a full breakfast (not just a couple rolls and cereals like other international brands) and happy hour.
The rooms are very well done with views of Adderley Road, refrigerators, microwaves, and basic plates and utensils. Unfortunately the flat screen is a little small and at an awkward place on the wall but you really won't be watching much TV with so much to see and do in the city. The reception is helpful to arrange airport transports and day tours. The airport pickup is worth the added expense to have a dedicated driver waiting for you with your name on a placard.
The hotel also offers wifi and this worked reasonably well in the guest rooms. It isn't the fastest connection but you can pay for an upgrade for a higher limit and speed. Room service was also tasty and reasonably priced. The food options cover all your standard international fare (mostly European with a few Asian options) but may be difficult for vegetarian South Asians. Security in the hotel and the area in general was noticeable; guards wear yellow vests and stand at most corners.

Poor but Okay
The hotel front desk staff was not helpful or was not knowledgeable of how to fix things that were wrong with a booking cost of transportation or a room maintenance issue. The description on Hotels.com has false advertisement per what the front desk people were acknowledging. We had to call management to take care of things which made the stay better. The food was okay. The bartender/waitress was very nice and helpful. The rooms were nice expect for the A/C issue of dripping water throughout the night. We had to change rooms because it was not fixed correctly the next day. The location was good and walking distant to a lot of shops and restaurants. They need some type of door bell inside of the suites because the maids claim they knock on the door but they just open your door and walk right into your room then say something to let you know they have entered. So make sure to use the "Do Not Disturb" sign.
The suite ( Junior) was excellent. Very roomy, very clean, nice toiletries. Good location, one street over from Long St and two mins from Twankeys.
Only thing that let it down was the service at breakfast. I stayed 5 days and didn't know the first day that a cooked breakfast was available as no one informed us, asked us what I wanted and there were no menus. Second day there was a menu and an order was taken. The next three days no menus, no offer of cooked breakfasts and the buffet was not being replenished when turning up for breakfast at 9am (not even bowls for cereal or glasses for juice without asking and then only one came out, which didn't help other guests waiting for these). The buffet plates were also pretty sparse. If breakfast is served til 10am then there should be a good selection available at 9am for sure. The other guests looked a bit cheesed off the with breakfast service too.
Staid for a few days in the centre of Cape Town, and use the Adderley as a base. Location is good, and even at night it didn't feel unsafe (at least as solo male traveler). The room (large studio actually) was big and very clean. Front desk staff was friendly and tried to help as much as possible. Internet access was a bit unreliable, but eventually it got sorted out. Breakfast buffet was average, I'd rather recommend to go to one of the nearby cafes for breakfast! If you have a car, there's a big parking house attached to the hotel, so it's safe to park a car.
Good value for studio type room near shopping area
The room was quite large with a living room and kitchen separate from the bedroom and main bath. There was second toilet and sink off the living area and tvs in both rooms. The free breakfast buffet had many choices including your choice of eggs.
The hotel was close to an open market area with local vendors. It would be great for a longer stay if you want to prepare your own meals. We stayed only two nights and one day, but it appeared there were many shopping and restaurant opportunities available. Would stay there again if in Cape Town.
Thoroughly enjoyed a 5-night stay at the Adderley as an 'add-on' to a 2-week 'roughing it' safari trip to Botswana. Huge suite was brilliant value for money, with a fully equipped kitchen as well. Helpful staff and good food in the hotel restaurant (I used it both for breakfast and a couple of evening meals).
The hotel stay was comfortable. The workers very helpful. We extended the stay for a late departure easily and for little cost. The food was good in the dining room although quite slow service. The cost very reasonable. We enjoyed the time there. A great location for the lady shoppers.
Rooms are huge and clean. Beds are very comfortable. Walkable from the main train station. Only downside, in room Wi-Fi hardly worked at all during my 5 night stay, which was disappointing.
The hotel has great specious suites. location is accessible to all central CT. The staff id friendly and helpful. Breakfast is excellent.

African safari
We found this hotel centrally located for our purposes - close to transport, Long Street eating places and to our tour meeting place. The suites were set up for self catering which is handy.

Very good hotel in a good central location
The suite room is more than adequate for a comfortable stay. For a busy holiday out and about this is Self catering bliss with a separate bedroom ,lounge area . The staff were very polite and friendly. The restaurant is okay and Serves a good choice of breakfast, cooked and continental. The evening meals were also of good quality.
Advanced notice of a civil protest in the area was given in good time in writing with advice on congestion avoidance and general safety so the day's schedule could be planned appropriately.
The only negative point is the wifi availability which is free but metered with security access vouchers which are a pain if your used to European constant & instant access. There is a stand alone Internet and free printer service which is adequate for general browsing & communications . I'd definitely return as this venue Is value for Money. clean, comfortable ,secure and friendly.
