Great Hotel - Bad Bar Hours

Great location, very comfortable bed. Super breakfast. A real pleasure - However- Disappointed that bar closed at 11pm with no advance warning. No accomodation made for Residents, no Room Service. Hotels are not BnBs & other Cardiff hotels offer late drinks for resident guests. Wake up call Marriott.

Rooms updated though bathroom terrible with tiles off the wall near the sink. Bathroom needs an upgrade. Windows don’t block out any street noise and could hear pub on corner until late. Plus air con which was not on still made noise which caused disrupted sleep all night. On check in , no details of car park code or exit given. Browns bar great with excellent breakfast and service. If it wasn’t for browns the hotel looks and feels very tired.

Bang Average!!!

The name Marriott, comes with a certain level of expectation and although this hotel looks nice and is clean etc, in my opinion the quality is not up to scratch and I have stayed in better rooms in Cardiff hotels for half the price. Firstly, the internet connection was intermittent at best, the mattress and bed was poor quality and the pillows were like 2 slices of bread. I certainly wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend a stay to anyone - Save yourself a few quid and go to the premier inn or something - On a positive, the bar in Browns was very good.

Couples night away

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, my experience was quite positive. The check-in process was quick and efficient, with friendly and polite staff who made me feel welcome from the start. There were no issues at this stage. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi was not working during my stay, which was a bit disappointing. I wasn’t the only one affected by this, as another guest mentioned experiencing the same issue. The room itself was a good size, and the beds were comfortable. It was clean and tidy, although I did notice some old stains on the floor. The supply of coffee in the room was limited, and it was odd to find only one pack of biscuits for two people. Additionally, the bath/shower produced a buzzing noise when in use, which seemed to be specific to our room. The hotel's location is ideal for nightlife. Despite being situated next to bars and clubs, I was pleasantly surprised to find that noise was not an issue. The bar in the hotel was lovely, staff great. Unfortunately, we had to check out early due to an emergency at home, but I had been thoroughly enjoying my stay up until that point. The check-out process was quick and smooth, with the staff being just as helpful as during check-in. The security personnel were also nice and accommodating. I used a hotel rewards programme for a discount, but I’m not sure I would be willing to pay the full price for the stay. While it was nothing spectacular, it was certainly pleasant enough for a short visit and what we needed.
