We were very pleased overall with our stay here. The house was well-equipped with towels for kitchen/bath, had nice sheets, extra blankets, & fans. It was easy to use the AC, the sinks & shower were all in good working order, & the appliances were great. The kitchen was well-stocked with usable utensils/tools, & all the knives were sharp, a big plus in our books! The only thing missing that would have been nice to have was black-out curtains. All the extra lights at night from the neighborhood were quite bright, even with the blinds. If not for a less than positive interaction with the host, we would have rated this place five stars. We received an email around noon on our first full day at the rental, citing that the housekeeper had heard howling coming from the unit, & that if we had sneaked a pet in, we needed to discuss this with the owners & a pet fee would apply. No one stopped by, called, or made an attempt to have an actual conversation with us to discuss this accusation. We replied via email, explaining that we had no pets or dogs, and if they wanted to confirm, they were more than welcome to stop by in person to ascertain this for themselves. We received a one sentence reply, apologizing for the confusion. We understand that people have bad days and misunderstandings happen. However, it's not ok to email someone, accusing them of something based on second-hand, word-of-mouth accounts, and then threaten fees, all in one go. That is not professional, nor polite.
