I paid for two rooms, when we arrived one of the rooms didn't have a towel, the other room's bathroom was completely dirty, the bathtub was dirty, we also left a bag of things I had bought and when I returned to my room after the walk I found it open and with fewer things.

Ok in a pinch but awkward

This place was fine. The people in the cute bar check you in and they weren’t super attentive. I got confused about which room was mine and ended up hoisting my suitcase up a very narrow staircase unnecessarily. The bedrooms are right next to the kitchen. The door only opened from inside the room with a key and the key was extremely tight and had to be opened just so, turning door knob and key same way I got locked in at one point which was a little scary and the guys that worked there were not super sympathetic about why being locked in a windowless room in a strange city while people working in the kitchen make jokes about someone being atrapado might be unsettling.

If you’re looking for just a room to stay at this place is great if you’re looking for more of an experience or trying to find a place that’s quiet this is not ideal. Rooms center around the restaurant outdoor courtyard so there is music but overall it was a good experience- check in took a little bit long, but rest was great.

First of all, the name of the hotel is not what is advertised therefore no one can find it. The room lock and faucet had to be replaced when we arrived. There is no hot water and when I asked, I was told that hot water is not needed in Cartagena. Pathetic! Breakfast is served from 8-10am too late for tourists like us who arrange early tours. It should be earlier as breakfast was part of the reason we chose this hotel. There were no blankets on the bed, just sheets. When I asked for one, I was told they didn’t have any. And the worst part was the manager, Alexandra. She said she would wait for us to arrive on a late international flight, but when we arrived in the neighborhood, she failed to answer the phone to give us directions so we had to rent another hotel on our first night. When I fronted her, she lied about it and never apologized. She is not an asset to the hotel! That is certain. However, the rest of the staff were very kind and accommodating.

Had a room with no window , right next to the kitchen. Not pleasant. Room got smelly, and our clothes smelt after two days. The kitchen bin was right outside our door. Staff were ok. Nice cold water available. Breakfast was on the tight side. No variety and no flexibility at all.

this property is close to everything great location, however it’s a house with a courtyard and an active restaurant so the noise level is high 7-11pm where people are literally right outside your room door. Great place staff are attentive, rooms are abit small.

I was not aware it was not a hotel. The room was next to the kitchen and the first night the room was full of flies. There was no fridge. The room was fine. The staff were super friendly and encouraging me to practice my español. The owners were accommodating after there was water damage to the room. We liked the area as it was truly within the walled city. The restaurant El Besos had a unique menu and the staff again was awesome with selections.

Absolutely lovely accomodation in the hip Getsemani area. It is in an old house, the rooms are clean and good (most important: they have AC!!). The restaurant (El Beso) is fabulous (try the shrimp kofte!), the breakfast is basic (egg dish arepas, coffee, juice) but I did not need more. The owners are absolutely lovely. Just be aware of two things: 1) No hot water in the shower - no problem for me due to the hot temperatures; 2) It can get noisy during restaurant opening hours (~10pm) but I always bring ear plugs when travelling. Also, if you have problems with stairs- the upper level rooms can only be reached via a narrow staircase. But for me an absolutely great accomodation in Cartagena! Would come back!

The room I stayed in was on the ground floor right next to the restaurant…like literally opened my door into the restaurant where diners were eating and the kitchen. It was super loud and very overstimulating all day long - I think that any neurodivergent person would have a really tough time staying there.

A great place to stay!

This is a great place to stay in a wonderful neighborhood that is lively, walkable, and very safe. The only downside was the noise at night, but everything else was absolutely wonderful.
