I only speak English, but I didn't need my translation device because they had enough staff that spoke English. The bar drinks, especially the rum infused fruit, were very delicious. The breakfast was acceptable, but 2-5 minute walk was a great cafe. When I was shown my room, it wasn't quite ready. Towels were missing and there was a few bottles of pop missing in the fridge (I noticed that after room service cleaning staff had come in my room). The mini fridge drinks and snacks you pay extra for, so I just went across the street to the pharmacy to get water and snacks. The Pharmacy also has alcohol. The pool is small, just a plunge pool, but it was nice and clean. The location is superb; for shopping and dining. The evening noise was loud, but stopped after midnight. My room had windows that looked out to a wall, (why bother putting them in). I didn't use the TV. The air conditioning and fan, were a bit loud, but I liked it, because then the night sounds were drowned out. The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillow options. The staff both in the cafe/bar area and front of house/reception were friendly and exceptional with their service. I recommend staying at this boutique hotel and definitely would stay there again, when visiting Cartagena, Colombia.

This is a lovely hotel very well situated in the walked historic part of cartagena. Very nice rooms with an excellent bed, linens and spacious bathrooms. It has a small pool to relax in after walking the town and two jacuzzi tubs that you can reserved. The staff was very accommodating and remembered us when we came back for a second stay.

I was traveling with my family, including my 80-year-old grandmother and my five-year-old daughter, and the staff could not have been more accommodating. They were attentive in every way, always ready to help, and genuinely warm. The property itself is stunning, and pictures do not do it justice. Breakfast was incredible, there was so much food with so many options, and everything was fresh. I especially loved that the grounds have fresh fruit you can literally pick and enjoy. It felt special in a way I have not experienced at other hotels. Everyone we encountered was friendly, even if we did not share a language, and that made the stay feel even more welcoming. I would recommend this place a hundred thousand times, and I am already planning to come back. My only regret is that I stayed for just one night. I truly wish I could have extended my visit. Also, I was able to communicate with the hotel via WhatsApp prior to my stay and they were helpful as well.

What a room!

We booked a Deluxe Room, room number 5, and it was a really large and beautiful room. Very modern and very comfortable. It even has a small inner terrace. Highly recommended!

Casona del Porvenir was perfect for our weekend in Cartagena. The room was a little small but since we were not spending all of our time in the rooms it didn’t really matter. The bed were comfortable and the space was always clean. There were some inconsistencies with the housekeeping, we seemed to have to call the front desk everyday for something, the last night they only left one towel, we called but no one ever came so my husband had to go to the pool to get a towel. The breakfast was ok and the pool is tiny. Again we didn’t spend so much time at the hotel so it didn’t really matter. I would recommend it.

Excelente ubicación, cerca de todos los lugares de interés. El hotel es muy bonito, tranquilo, confortable. La suite junior que ocupamos es muy cómoda (solo requiere un cambio de ventilador de techo). El desayuno es bueno, la comida del restaurante muy buena. We stayed at Casona del Porvenir for 10 days and absolutely loved every moment. The staff—from housekeeping to reception, bartenders, and more—offered genuine, top-tier hospitality. We felt like family by the end of our stay. Gabriel at the front desk was especially helpful and kind. He made us feel right at home and was always available for questions and great local recommendations. We also connected with Alex and Vicki at the bar—they created such a welcoming vibe that even our family from another hotel came over just to grab drinks and enjoy their company! Our room was spotless, and housekeeping worked around our schedule. The hotel is peaceful, though balcony rooms near the street may get some nightlife noise. The included breakfast was delicious, especially the fresh juices—coco-maracuyá at their sister hotel (Casona del Colegio) was our favorite! Though the pool is small, it was still relaxing, and the nightly sweet treats left in the room were a lovely surprise. We felt very safe, even returning late at night thanks to attentive security. If you’re visiting Cartagena, we highly recommend Casona del Porvenir. Thank you for making our stay unforgettable!

Absolutely loved our stay at Casona del Porvenir! The Premium Room was spacious, beautifully designed with loft-style architecture, automatic blinds, and elegant artwork. The balcony and peaceful courtyard made it feel like a hidden oasis. Staff were incredibly warm and accommodating. A perfect blend of comfort, style, and top-notch service in the heart of Cartagena. Highly recommended!

Great hotel in a great location. The hotel was beautiful and really clean. Room was an effective use of space and the shower in the bathroom was amazing. Staff was super friendly, cocktails and breakfast was great. The whole lobby area is beautiful and great place to sit and unwind. Location is great and close to a lot of restaurants.
