We specifically requested a room far from the elevator, but when we checked in we were assigned a room right in front of the elevator. We requested a change and instead they assigned an additional room where we could hear all the noise from outside.

We loved Hotel Santa Ana. The location is wonderful, right in the middle of the action in the walled city. The rooftop pool/bar is beautiful. The rooms were nice and clean and the breakfast was really good. I gave it four stars because we had trouble with our air conditioning unit and we had a couple of hot nights when it turned off unexpectedly on its own.

Overall a nice hotel with a few things to note. First, the rooms are large and the beds are comfortable, the wifi is excellent as well. The cleaning staff was amazing and had our room spotless. The rooftop pool is very nice and comfortable, especially on those hot Columbian afternoons. Staff was very friendly and there is free breakfast every day. Location is perfect - you're close to everything in the walled city. The downsides. There is construction going on in the building connected to the hotel so there is A LOT of noise. Looking at the notice on the building, it's going to be a 23 month project so the closer you are to that side of the building (rooms ending on 01, 02 or 03) you're going to hear everything starting at around 7:30 am and continuing until around 4 pm. And when they say check in is at three, they are not kidding. We could not get into our room one second before three, so if you're arriving early in the day plan accordingly.

The room was spacious for 2 people. The bathroom was a nice size and had the toilet area separate from the shower. The hotel area was nice, and the rooftop patio was an excellent place to hang out and have a drink or relax. The included breakfast was nice and delicious. Friendly staff. Walkable location. Some noise due to being in the historic center, and also from the Independence Festivals.

The hotel check in process was very easy. Our room was very clean. There was loud music playing at the nearby square on the two nights we were there but our room was quiet and we were not bothered by it at all. Breakfast was delicious. Staff is very friendly. The hotel has everything nearby - stores, restaurants, pharmacy etc. It is located close to the entrance of the walled city and just a10min walking distance to the La Bodeguita Puerta 3 to take you to the Rosario islands.
