Newly restored, stunning 4 bedroom, 5 bathroom property with private pool, situated deep in the Garfagnana, area famous for its walking, wildlife and fauna. This spacious stone barn has been restored to a very high standard, with all modern conveniences, such as a well equipped kitchen; beautiful shower rooms yet it retains some of the traditional features including chestnut beamed ceilings. The house whilst very traditional has large windows creating a sense of light and airiness not always found in older style properties and it also has the benefit of a large covered terrace on the first floor as well as a another open terrace both of which overlook the garden and pool. Location Situated on the hillside, only 2km from the local market town of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana with its bars, restaurants, shops and famous Thursday morning market. This property is also very convenient, situated less than a 5 minute drive from town with all facilities, and circa 500m from Bonini restaurant.

Fabulous holiday home

This property was perfect for our multi-generation family holiday. The pool was a particular hit, with big wide long steps for the kids to play on but deep enough for the adults to enjoy. Plenty of shaded area for sitting outside and enjoying the scenery.The hosts were charming and helpful.

Superb Tuscan gem!

We had a fantastic family holiday and celebration in this perfect spacious and comfortable Tuscan villa. It was a treat from beginning to end: numerous bathrooms to provide privacy, beautiful swimming pool with a shady area and mountain views and a very well equipped kitchen for family meals. How we miss this beautiful terrace and all the happy moments spent there! We would love to come back. Loretta and her husband were great hosts, always at hand and very communicative. Loretta was very helpful before the holiday as we were trying to organise a special celebration. Thank you both! Your property is stunning and the location is ideal.

Quiet and peaceful with amazing pool!

This home was great, the open plan living works really well and we had meals on the terrace, inside and by the pool! The pool was just so much fun for the kids and adults alike and was clean and well maintained with no red sore eyes at the end of the day! House is cool with a mountain breeze taking the edge of the strong sun. It was also nice and cool at bedtime even when it had been 30 degrees above during the day! About 45 min drive from Lucca and Pisa but set in a quiet and sentence setting this is perfect for a nice relaxed getaway with the fun of the pool on hand day and night but day trips not too far away. The owners were fantastic, genuinely helpful and informative and gave us some great choices for beach locations! We got a little muddled with a toll road ticket and they rectified this at the local post office for us - so more then helpful and very kind couple. We would love to come back and are missing the pool already! Highly recommend.

Lovely escape to Italy even though weather poor

Very helpful owners - lovely property nestled in the Italian mountainside.. Facilities excellent - cooking utensils etc all well provided for.. Unfortunately our weather was not good at the beginning of our stay, however we got out and about to see some of the beautiful surrounding villages during this time. You would definitely need a car to stay here as nearest town / supermarket is not easily walkable for the average family .Would highly recommend for a relaxing escape. Thank you!

A party of 8 ranging from 3 year old to 58 had a great 7 days in the villa, beautiful setting in a beautiful area of Italy. Lots of lovely little villages to explore. The owners were very helpful with lots of info before we went and when we arrived at the villa. Would recommend and will return. LOVED IT.

Beautiful location with added wildlife

We were a group of six ranging in age from 2 to 70 and found the property met all of our needs. The views are amazing and we found that we had daily visits from some of the nearby wild deer. Loretta and Benito had thought of everything and we found everything we required in the property. The swimming pool was essential particularly in the afternoons when we returned from trips to Lucca and Pisa. We would definitely recommend this property for a relaxing enjoyable Tuscan break.

Super converted barn with all the home comforts

We were 4 couples on holiday together with 3 cars between us. The house (and garden) was extremely comfortable and offered lots of space which meant we never felt overcrowded. It was well maintained by Loretta and Ben who were helpful hosts with good suggestions about places to visit when they popped in. The description was quite accurate and I'd certainly recommend this property. Excellent value too.

Grundsätzlich war der Aufenthalt sehr entspannt und angenehm. Das Haus und der Garten mit einem wunderschönen Pool sind ideal für Familien und befreundete Pärchen. Wir würden die Unterkunft gerne mit 5 Sternen bewerten, allerdings waren die Küche und Badezimmer in einem nicht gerade sauberen Zustand. Erst nach einem ganztägigen Putzeinsatz meiner Frau und Schwägerin konnten wir uns wirklich wohl fühlen.

Fahrradurlaub

Der Empfang durch die Besitzer war herzlich und informativ. Unsere Gruppe von 7 Personen, hat sich vom ersten Moment an in dem Haus mit dem Pool sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet und es fehlt nichts! Die überdachte Terrasse ist sehr gemütlich und erlaubt es auch bei Regen draußen zu sitzen.Etwas abseits gelegen, aber genau dass was wir gesucht haben! Super Unterkunft

Für uns war das Feriendomizil perfekt - sechs Erwachsene sowie drei Kinder/ Jugendliche. Der Pool ist angenehm groß und wurde von uns allen fleißig genutzt. Die Räumlichkeiten sind schön und liebevoll gestaltet und wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Vermieter sind ausgesprochen freundlich und gut zu erreichen. Für Ausflüge in der Umgebung oder ans Meer muss man etwas Zeit einplanen.

Schönes Haus in ruhiger Lage

Das Haus war sehr schön. Besonders gut haben uns die überdachte Terrasse und der große Pool gefallen. Die Lage ist sehr ruhig in den Bergen, mit tollem Ausblick. Sehr praktisch für Kleinkinder: die Treppe ist oben durch ein Treppengitter geschützt.

Schönes Haus, weite Wege

Wir waren im Mai für 10 Tage zu acht (4 Erwachsende, 2 Teenager und 2 Kinder) im Ferienhaus und die ersten Gäste in diesem Jahr. Die Lage ist toll, allerdings ist zu bedenken, dass für Ausflüge mehr Zeit einzuplanen ist und die die Straßen stellenweise sehr eng und kurvig sind. Ein Trip nach Pisa z.B. dauert knapp 1,5 Std. Leider war das Wetter für Ende Mai sehr wechselhaft und nicht ganz so warm. In den Schlafzimmern und Bädern im unteren Geschoss des Hauses war es daher bei Ankunft recht kalt (17-18 Grad) und feucht. Loretta und Benito haben uns die Heizung für 3 Tage angestellt, dann ging es etwas besser. Insgesamt ist das Haus toll hergerichtet und es ist alles da, was man braucht. Dass jedes der 4 Schlafzimmer ein eigenes Bad hat ist super. Leider waren wir während unseres Aufenthalts nicht die einzigen Gäste. Es gab jede Menge Ameisen, was draußen aufgrund der Lage mitten in der Natur vollkommen okay ist, wir hatten sie aber auch im Haus. Sowohl im Obergeschoss, als auch in den Schlafzimmern & Bädern und in einem Zimmer sogar in den Betten der Kinder. Der Pool ist toll und sauber, allerdings nichts für Frostbeulen. Wie bereits in einer vorherigen Bewertung erwähnt, hätte die Sauberkeit insgesamt etwas besser sein können. Alles in Allem ein tolles Haus, unser nächster Urlaub wird aber ein Rundum-Sorglos-All-Inclusive-Trip ;-)

Vakantie in Castelnuovo di garfagnana

Het was een prima vakantiewoning , ligt prachtig en een zeer aardige eigenaar. Minpuntje zijn de matrassen op de bedden. Die zijn gedateerd en moeten nodig vervangen worden. Verder een zeer goed verzorgde keuken, alles was aanwezig. Oven, magnetron, vaatwasser. Ook een wasmachine is aanwezig. En als laatste punt, de eigenaar was zeer behulpzaam bij het reserveren van een restaurant. ( ik ben het italiaans nog niet machtig. Google translate werkt voortreffelijk) de eigenaar spreekt engels.

Wunderschöne umgebaute Scheune in idyllischer Lage

Wir verbrachten mit Freunden (7 Pers. 75-80 J.) eine Woche in der Capanna Del Pastore. Loretta und Benito waren sehr hilfsbereit und sympathische Gastgeber, die sofort reagierten, als bei uns der Kühlschrank nicht richtig funktionierte. Innert kürzester Zeit wurde er durch einen tollen, neuen Kühlschrank ersetzt. Die Lage ist traumhaft schön und so ruhig, dass sogar ein Reh sich in die Nähe traute um zu äsen. Der Weg nach Castelnuovo war gut befahrbar und nur ca. 15 Min. mit dem Auto. In diesem Städtchen gibt es auch perfekte Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, aber wenig Parkplätze. Die Küche war bestens eingerichtet für Leute wie wir, die gerne kochen und gemeinsam essen wollen. Jedes Zimmer hatte seinen Charme, sodass wir uns wohl fühlten und herrlich schliefen. Es gab viele Orte im Garten, wo man Sonne tanken oder kühlen Schatten fand. Dass alle Zimmer ein eigenes WC/Dusche hatten, war ein grosser Luxus, den wir in unserem Alter sehr schätzten. Der Pool war wunderschön und sehr gross. Er wurde auch immer von den Gastgebern gepflegt und gereinigt. Leider war das Wasser für uns sehr frisch und nur die Mutigen trauten sich hinein. Aber im Hochsommer ist das sicher sehr erfrischend. Wir können das Ferienhaus allen Interessierten nur empfehlen. Sie werden wunderschöne Ferien ohne viele Touristen in in einer idyllischen Gegend der Toscana erleben!!!

Sehr schöner Urlaub und eine sehr freundliche Gastgeberin. Die Sauberkeit im Haus hätte ein wenig besser sein können. Der Pool dagegen war sehr sauber und wurde auch regelmäßig gereinigt. Im Ganzen gesehen, echt empfehlenswert.

Familienferien

Wir verreisten mit 3 Paaren und 3 Kleinkindern. Es war wirklich toll. Es gab Reisebetten und Babystühle für die Kleinen. Die vielen Badezimmer und die kühlen Schlafzimmer waren super. Nach einer Woche wurde noch einmal durchgeputzt und die Tücher gewechselt. Wir haben den Swimming Pool und den Garten sehr genossen. Ebenfalls die Lage in den Bergen, da es nicht so heiss wurde und über Nacht wieder abkühlte.

Wonderful week in a little gem in Castelnuovo di G.

We were a group of 6 adults and spent a lovely week in this little gem in Castelnuovo. Each room has its own bathroom, the pool is truly fantastic, and the kitchen is well-equipped. Plenty of good restaurants in the neighborhood. Lucca is only a 45 min drive.

Einfach Traumhaft

Der Urlaub in diesem Ferienhaus war einfach nur traumhaft. Das Haus war uns drei Familien mit Kleinkindern (1 & 2 & Hund) super. Jedes Schlafzimmer hat sein eignes Badezimmer. Die Küche ist fantastisch ausgestattet, sodass man super auch für viele Leute kochen kann. Es gibt einen riesen Garten mit großem Pool, der auch für die kleinen Kinder super ist, weil er abgestuft Tiefer wird. Die Lage war für uns auch super, da wir hauptsächlich am Pool entspannt haben, aber man muss beachten, dass man für Ausflüge ein bisschen mehr Zeit einplanen muss, weil man überall recht lange unterwegs ist (Gebirgsstraßen). Zuletzt noch ein paar Worte zu den Vermietern. Sie sind so unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir konnten uns jederzeit per WhatsApp melden und unter anderem nach Ausflugszielen oder Parkmöglichkeiten fragen. Alles in Allem kann das Haus uneingeschränkt empfohlen werden.

Séjour agréable dans une très belle région

La description de l'annonce correspond à la maison. Pas de mauvaise surprise. Son emplacement, la vue sur les montagnes, la piscine sont les atouts majeurs. Les propriétaires sont disponibles et ont pu répondre à nos diverses questions malgré la barrière de la langue. Le seul point noir, c'est la propreté à l'intérieur du bien. Peut mieux faire, nous ne sommes pas difficiles mais dans la cuisine, les portes, l'électroménager... n'étaient pas propres. Un peu d'huile de coude pour se sentir mieux et plus à l'aise dans cette maison pleine de cachet. Un début difficile mais qui heureusement n'a pas gâché le reste de notre semaine.

Traumhafte Lage inmitten der Garfagnana

Semaine superbe dans la campagne Toscane.

Super séjour à la Capanna del Pastore ! Belle maison au calme au milieu des collines. On se sent chez nous et on se repose à l'ombre du pommier. Maison très bien équipée, des chambres, des belles salles de bain, 2 terrasses, une grande piscine, tout est là ! Ne manquez pas la Trattoria pour vous régaler à quelques mètres de la maison.
