Great location

The front desk person was very friendly and accommodating, asked if we needed help with our bags. room was small as expected , but clean and renovated very well, also it was quiet unless you had the window open. easy access parking for $10.00 and could easily walk to downtown in minutes. The only negative the bed was horrible it was caved in a lot right in the center, The worst we have ever slept on. Would not stay again until there is a new bed replacement.

Pros: We chose this place for the rooftop hot tub, which did not disappoint. It also has a very nice rooftop patio with lots of tables, chairs, hammocks, and a shade tent. We loved that it was just off Baker St (the main drag) and that we could walk most places downtown. Everyone who worked there was pleasant and answered our questions easily. The Thai restaurant inside the hotel was tasty. The Nespresso machine in our rooms and foyer were a nice touch. As well as the nice foyer! Cons: we were a little disappointed about the parking, though that was clearly mentioned on Expedia and the hotel's website. What was completely lacking was the explanation of what "no elevator" means. We didn't realize that all the rooms were on the second floor. This is not mentioned on the hotel website at all. The bathroom looked nice but the shower was difficult to move around in and the jets in the photos didn't work. I tried all the settings. We had the door hanger used to clean our room after the first night because we needed more bath towels, but that didn't happen until the second night (we stayed 3 nights). After the room was made up, we had more towels than before (such as a bath mat and face cloths - this wasn't in response to us saying anything as we didn't realize they were missing until we had them provided)! No free breakfast wasn't a big deal but we had hoped for some snacks.

Would not recommend to anybody except college or high school kids, small space, poor access and common use areas in other hotel are limited and controlled here.

I recently stayed at this property on two non-sequential nights and had a great experience overall. The first night, I stayed in the King Suite. The space was nice and spacious, though I didn’t really need the kitchen. One clarification—while the suite is advertised with a private hot tub, what’s actually in the room is a built-in Jacuzzi bathtub. The "hot tub" is located outside, through a shared common area and up to the roof. It’s a beautiful spot with stunning views, especially at sunset. There were very few other guests during my stay, so I was able to reserve it both times I wanted to use it, but I noticed my key card worked on the door even without a reservation. The hot tub area is large enough to comfortably fit six to eight people, and it’s unclear why it’s not openly available to all guests—it seems like it could be. On my second night, I stayed in a standard king room, which had a bed just as comfortable as the King Suite. Since I could access the hot tub the same way, I honestly didn’t miss the extra space or amenities of the suite. For my needs, the hot tub and a comfortable bed were the highlights, and both delivered perfectly. I visited in January for some epic cat skiing, and this place worked great as my base. If you’re a ski bum like me, you’ll appreciate the hot tub for unwinding after a day on the slopes. Definitely recommend it for the views and comfort!

Honest 3 out of 5

The Bed was absolutely amazing. Everything else however was downhill and felt pretty mediocre. A big reason why we chose The Savoy was to experience the steam/jet shower in the photos. Turns out the jets are not hooked up. Fancy looking towel hangers is all they are. Loose door knobs, toilet lids and bed side lamps didn’t help the overall experience. But that bed is damn comfortable. I will say that much about the place.

There was black mold growing in the room from what looked to be a leaky sprinkler head. It had been painted over at one point, but was growing through the paint. There was also lots of soap/mildew buildup in the shower area.

The property is nice and quiet. Close to everywhere we want to walk in Nelson. It's a nice boutique hotel with some cool quirks. More counterspace in the bathroom would be good. A pedestal sink with one small glass shelf beside it isn't enough room for even basic toiletry needs.
