Sonesta looks beautiful, from the lobby decor to the room but there were several issues during my stay. CONS: The room took forever to heat up on a very cold night. There were spots/stains on the sofa in the king room. In the morning, there was some type of bug that crawled across the sheets and the shower clogged. I spoke to the front desk agent, who was wonderful and accommodating with apologies but, I could tell it was 'known'/recurring problem. No compensation was offered. PROS: The staff is friendly/professional demeanor

This property is listed as tge only 4 star hotel in Charlotte . That is a bold statement in a city that size . No exaggeration I would take a Rodeway Inn over that place . Total scam marketing . Expedia gave option for breakfast buffet for an additional $41. You think “ buffet at a 4star hotel ? It’s got to be up there with Vegas buffets “ Cone to find out , breakfast is only $20 … and it consists of your choice of frozen breakfast sandwitch from freezer section of gas station . Room was in shambles with every fabric surface severely stayed with who knows what . I could go on but Expedia should remove this property or present it for what it is . I left and said I’d rather sleep in my car

The woman who checked me in was friendly, accommodating, efficient, and informative. I check in to lots of hotels and she sets the standard for exactly what a business traveler desires for a check in experience. The hotel room and building were perfectly fine. I would surely stay there again.

The front desk person told me that the room was not ready when I arrived at 4pm check in time. She completely ignored me and let me sit for an hour and a half!!!! Completely unacceptable! When I finally asked if my room was ready she acted like she never saw me. When I told how long I waited, she said "why didn't you tell me?" Like it was MY Fault! Horrific and inexcusable rude condescending and dismissive attitude from her. I didn't get her name and she acted like she didn't know what she was doing. She was wearing a dark jacket with short hair. Her attitude was disrespectful and abhorrent. I have stayed here twice before and always had great service, NOT THIS TIME! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I highly doubt I will return and I will advise people not to choose this poorly run establishment. And the room was not that clean. Blackout curtains have some kind of gross stains, and broken. The carpet is filthy and stained. The desk clerk did NOTHING to rectify this abysmal failure. This location has gone down hill.

Overall, it was an OK experience. On three separate occasions we were requested for our room to be cleaned and it was never cleaned during our three day stay. Also, the elevator did not work for a majority of our stay. We were given 3 to 4 new room keys to use on the elevator and every day one or two of them did not work.
