Upon check in, the hotel told us that they overbooked and would have to give us a different room with a king sized bed instead of 2 queens. We told them this would not work because there were 4 of us. They offered us a roll in bed and a $200 credit to use at the bar. We felt this was incredibly inadequate and debated with the manager for 10+ minutes until he agreed to give us half off. On top of this, the bathroom smelled very strongly of sewage the entire stay. Came to this hotel because they were so lovely the previous time I stayed, but not sure I’ll ever want to come back.

Beautiful hotel in a great location

Beautiful hotel close to Riverwalk and close to Lallapalooza Festival. Excellent room service. Great floor plan for a hotel room. Our only complaint is the double beds. If Queen beds were available it would have been much more comfortable.

I had an excellent stay at The Fairmont Chicago! The location is perfect with so many nearby places to visit within walking vicinity, a 5 minute walk to The Bean! The hotel is very clean and our room was serviced everyday. The Leaf Spa is incredible, an absolutely beautiful space where you can relax and it includes a steam room. Will definitely be booking my stay here the next time I visit Chicago!

The rooms was smelly! It is more like a 3 .5 stars hotel. Towel and bedsheet had roles.

We recently stayed at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park in a Gold Level room for 2 nights and overall had a very good experience. The room was clean, well-sized, and the bed was very comfortable. Water pressure in the shower was excellent—something we definitely appreciate after a long day of walking around the city. The Gold Level service was a highlight. The lounge was well maintained, and the Gold team did a fantastic job keeping the space clean, welcoming, and comfortable. Breakfast, evening canapés, and desserts were enjoyable, though the selection seemed more limited compared to other Fairmont properties we've stayed at. One minor issue: there was no complimentary water in the room upon check-in, but once we called down, it was promptly delivered with no hassle. They had Evian water bottle and other minibar items available but it comes with extra cost. The location is another strong point. It’s about a 10-minute walk to cross the river to Michigan Avenue, 15–20 minutes to Navy Pier, and just 10 minutes to Cloud Gate (The Bean). We didn’t have a car, so we can’t speak to the parking situation. While it didn’t quite match the level of service and amenities we've come to expect from other Fairmont hotels, it was still a comfortable and pleasant stay overall.

The room was ok not great for what I would expect for a fairmont. Also they charged you a $25 daily urban experience fee which seems ridiculous and just another way to get your money. There was nothing posted about that fee on the Expedia site.
