It's in a very convenient location for traveling on public transportation like the bus and trains. It's also a decent walk from some stores, cafes and restaurants. The hotel breakfast is okay, nothing too special.

This stay will make me stay away from La Quinta properties for the forseable future. They were sold out for the weekend, and not remotely prepared for it. They had two elevators, and one was down. We were there for four days, so plenty of time to fix it, and it was still not working when we left. They ran out of eggs more than one hour before breakfast was done and, when I brought it up to them, they said "breakfast was free", so basically we had to be happy with whatever we got

Lots of room but lots of issues

It was a very clean and spacious room but there were several issues. There was a $250 room deposit compared to average of $75-$100. Only 1 of 2 elevators worked and the bathroom door was replaced by double doors that didn’t actually fit so you could still see inside. First and last time there.

Unwelcoming

Despite messaging them to advise I'd be arriving a day late due to a flight cancellation, I received no response. On arrival I felt like I was an big inconvenience and it took ages for them to figure out what to do. They then decided they'd have to clean a room for me. After a tiring journey, I really felt unwelcome and was glad I was only staying one night.

Tom at the hotel was TOP TIER!! HE made my weekend so smooth far as telling me how to get around with buses to the united center. He also recommend a water taxi to Chinatown. He also helped with parking in structure. He was super helpful and attentive, not just to me but ALL customers he encountered!! he deserves a RAISE!!

Parking was very expensive, which can be understandable since it’s Chicago. However I had reserved this room for almost 2 weeks and they had my card on file. They had charged me for the first night, but when I got there they said they do not take my specific bank card, which they had already charged and they do not take cash and they are adding a 250 security deposit to the total. So we were left without a room for the night of a 2 night stay and we had to find somewhere else.

A general comfortably stay

A generally comfortable stay. Large spacious room and bathroom. Both room and bathroom were clean. Easy walking distance to Union Station and local city transport. Shower had good hot water and water pressure. Bed was comfortable and room quiet, allowing a good sleep. Friendly reception. Good guest laundry - $3. Little shop and a noodle shop off reception. No room safe. No powerpoints next to bed and not in convenient locations. Poor wifi for tge duration of the stay was disappointing.
