More red tape than I’ve ever experienced before to line up a room reservation — then more hassle than I’ve ever experienced before to access a building and a room. I was afraid to leave the room in case I faced more access codes that didn’t work. Frustration and anxiety ruined my stay in Chicago.

Feels like a luxury apartment not a hotel. Also even though there's no front desk, if you have any issues they can get someone over to fix anything the same day. Definitely using them again.

I stayed at the Sonder overnight between two long-distance trains. If you are traveling through Union Station, this is a perfect option. It’s basically across the street from the station, and it was also good for some low-intensity exploring in the area. The room was clean, comfortable, and since I was between train trips I really appreciated the opportunity to do laundry in my unit. I was skeptical at first of the app-driven check-in and check-out. There are no employees at the location, although I assume if something goes wrong they can send someone. But it all worked without a hitch, and I’m sold on the concept now.

Entirely automated check in and check out process - Pretty location and nice room, but felt a bit stressed knowing I could get potentially locked out if I forgot the code or if my phond died. Would have preferred at least one on-site person

Our apartment was very good, spacious and well equiped and we enjoyed our 6 night stay. It's well located for Union Station (which is very close by), Sears Tower and the Blue / 'L' line. However, the lobby area and the immediate outside of the block do need some TLC / upgrading due to wear and tear - first impressions on arrival are not great.

Apartment was exceptionally clean and easy to find! There is one small flight of stairs to reach the elevator. No trouble entering building with provided code. Several dining options within walking distance which was a plus. I would absolutely stay here again when in the area!

We loved the proximity to Union Station as well as Willis Tower and St. Patrick's Church. Casual dining options were very close and convenient. The apt was very clean. The view was of an alley which as expected had trash around dumpsters. It was brightly lit at night. A number of panhandlers in the area, which wasn't a complete surprise considering it's a city. The loveseat was the worst part... extremely uncomfortable and worn out. That being said, we would stay there again, because the check in and check out process was also a breeze. Had everything you need for a limited stay. The area felt safe to walk around also. Lots of foot traffic.

Lovely bedding, beautiful bathroom, very well equipped. However there was a lot of noise from exposed pipes on the ceiling, and some noise from other people nearby. If it had better sound insulation I would definitely stay again.

Location, the overall building and access were excellent. Only downside is that the walls are quite thin, you could pretty easily hear voices and activity in the neighboring unit.
