We arrived at 1am and the lady was awake to check us in. Breakfast was good, the rooms were clean and the hotel was only a 5 minute walk to the train station.
Stayed here for 1 night to catch the devils nose trance next day. Best of the hotels in Alausi. Was presently surprised really with the hotel in with especially how cheap it was. Good location for train station and safe parking for the rented car
Very clean and nice accommodations in the center of town. Had a secure place to park car and staff was very friendly. They do not speak English well. Only complaint was music playing through night on the streets. Not hotel’s fault, but you could hear it in the rooms.
I selected this property because of its good reviews, but more importantly, it's proximity to the Train Station (5 blocks) and the Wander Bus pick up point. Coincidentally, it's also opposite the rural bus station. I didn't see where the highway coaches stop.
The Europa is an older, two storey hotel built around a courtyard. My room was adequately equipped and the bed was comfortable, although the shower never really got hot. Breakfast is served on the second floor, with eggs cooked to order on request. The staff go out of their way to be helpful and same day laundry service is available at reasonable cost. There are numerous restaurants and other shops nearby and on Sunday the streets are filled with hill-folk in their traditional garb.

Good location but very noisy
the hotel was very noisy.
The blanket had stains.
Ok for the price.
We had room 20, a huge, spotless, light and airy room. Great sleep -- few dogs barking. Only hotel so far (6) in ECU with no plumbing problems and hot water. Breakfast was a bit meagre and scrambled eggs were overcooked.
Spent two nights in this lovely hotel. Friendly staff and center of town location. Bus stop across the street and tourist train three blocks away. Extra blankets for the cool nights. Fruit, juice, bread and scrambled eggs for breakfast. Lost wifi in the room one night but was able to use the wifi in the reception area.
Very nice facility in Alausi town. Hotel conditions were completely within our expectations for the price. Room were very nice and clean. Staff attention the best. Good front desk service. I will suggest this hotel to whoever visiting Alausi.
This is actually Hostel Europa, though I was able to get a private room. The rooms are a bit cramped and not very comfortable. This is not what I was led to believe from the site.

Ok, Would stay again.
Staff were friendly. This is not a new hotel. I has room 13. Not too much road noise. Bed was comfortable and the local restaurants have some good options
We stayed at Hotel Europa only to take the train to Nariz del Diablo the next day. If you are looking for 5 star comfort, this is not the city for that. There aren't many hotels to choose from, but the hotel met our needs for one night. If you prefer a room with a private bathroom, make sure it says private bath in the description. Another couple was not happy that their bathroom was down the hall. We had a private bathroom, and the showers had great pressure and temperature after a long bus ride from Cuenca. The rooms are clean, but make sure you travel with earplugs due to significant street noise. We were in room 13 at the back of the hotel, and it was still very loud. For a city of 3000 people in a small country, keep your expectations quiet low. Just next door to the hotel is a fantastic panaderia with and apple strudel and warm bread that is very tasty and very inexpensive.
