Charming, but uncomfortable.

The property is very near the east entrance to Yellowstone, which is a positive. The lack of WiFi could be considered charming, but I wish it was more clear that you aren't likely to get either cell service or wifi. The room was too hot to sleep in. I can see not having AC in this area, but a simple box fan would have made a world of difference. Beds and pillows were substandard.

Very small space but clean & cozy. Small bathroom & bed, small desk & that’s it. No amenities. No tv or WiFi. You have to go to the main lodge & use the signal there which was weak at best. Good restaurant but pricy. Staff very nice. Only about 3 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone. The views amazing & wildlife right outside your door. I thought the price was high for what we got.
My room was the door on the right. I am the back of the tin tepee & the front also has 2 rooms to rent, so 4 little rooms to rent in that whole tepee cabin.

We spent 3 days in Yellowstone and this hotel was convenient and affordable. The telephone and the coffee machine didn’t work in our room, but that wasn’t a dealbreaker for us. If you plan to stay here make sure you make dining plans elsewhere.

CLOSEST property to Yellowstone, great history

The closest property I could find to the entrance of Yellowstone, this has the added benefit of historic significance--built on the property around Buffalo Bill Cody's hunting lodge. They warned us to watch carefully for large wildlife as we exit the cabin in the morning and we did have a bison grazing not far from the front door on our second morning. The only drawback I noticed was a lack of A/C so nights were warm and stuffy as we didn't want to open windows and potentially invite any bears in.

Fun place to stay

Saw two bears crossing the street as soon as I checked in here. Stayed in the smallest room, but I was there to be outdoors and not stuck in the room so it was fine. It was a quick three min drive to the east entrance of Yellowstone which was amazing! People complain about the lack of internet service, but again I was there to enjoy the outdoors so it didn’t bother me. I would stay here again.

Close to Yellowstone (2 mi from East Entrance), staff friendly enough, but boy oh boy do they need to update some things. First, there was a mouse in our room - gross - and we never had any food in there. The only 'food' was the sugar and coffee they left so we threw that out of the room immediately. Second, do not expect privacy. The curtains do not even cover the windows. That is ridiculous. The curtains are also not blackout, which isn't a killer, but come on, at least have them cover the entire window at a minimum. Third, the wifi absolutely does not work anywhere on property. If you are planning to enjoy Yellowstone during the day and work or stream at night, you will not be able to do that so either bring a Starlink or stay elsewhere. They should not say they offer wifi at all in my opinion. My daughter had schoolwork she needed to do for college and could not because of their deceptive claim of wifi. I was so disappointed in the entire stay because of these things and I will never return to this hotel. I highly recommend any other property east of Yellowstone other than this one.

We LOVED our stay and the Tepee Resort. The staff was incredible and friendly. Sam the host in the dining area was always smiling and makes great latte's. Ryan the server in the dining room was fast, friendly and had amazing recommendations. The Hot Cocoa was to die for, the chicken marsala was incredible and the huckleberry lemonade is an adult beverage worth trying. This was our favorite place to stay!

The property itself was beautiful, but the check-in process left a lot to be desired. We called a week in advance to confirm that we’d be arriving after hours and were told there would be a self check-in process — but no details were provided beyond that. When we arrived, there was no signage indicating where the registration or check-in area was, which made it really confusing. We ended up driving all around the property trying to figure it out. Thankfully, we happened to catch a bartender locking up and were able to ask for help — otherwise, we would have had no idea where to go or how to get in. It would have made a big difference if we had received more clear instructions in advance or if there had been proper signage on-site. The stay itself was fine, but the lack of communication and organization during check-in definitely started the experience off on a frustrating note. The stay was all we needed - bed and bathroom. Our toilet didn’t flush though. Breakfast and service was great.

The location was great and the room was very clean and beautiful. No cell network in here. I wish they offer WiFi. That was the only negative factor on our one-night stay.
