We stayed at the then Rendezvous Hotel a couple of years ago and it looked tired. The restaurant, food and service were generally all good. A couple of years later and under new management, we expected some positive changes but unfortunately didn't experience anything that could be considered better than before. The rooms and especially the leisure club look like they need renovation and even though they are advertising one night stays during January offering dinner in the canalside restaurant, it was closed due to low resident numbers. In summary; overall it's tired and needs some renovation, service and staff were generally good and the meals not bad but relatively expensive.

I received wonderful service at ths beautiful Skipton Hotel. After a power outage in the first room, I was upgraded to a canal view. The atmosphere of the warm and friendly - staff saw to all needs without fault.

Stayed here for one night for the Christmas markets and the room was disgusting. We had to move from the first room as it smelt like drains and given another room. The second room wasn’t any better.. There was mould all over the bathroom. Mould in the room kettle. Marks on the wall. Overall would not recommend. Staff have been most unhelpful.

Room was large and clean. The restaurant and bar area are very pleasant. There was a good choice of food at breakfast, it was freshly cooked and of good quality. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms themselves are in need of an update. The bathrooms are tired looking. The furniture needed to be replaced as the sofa sagged, the base of the pull out bed was shabby and a couple of drawer fronts were damaged. There was a draft coming from the window.

We paid for a double canal view room and requested a quiet room. We were allocated Room 515. Unfortunately Room 514 was next door and the couple in this room were noisy vocally, shouting, and the tv on loud from 5.30pm onwards. We called the night porter 4 times who visited room 514 from 11.30am to ask them to reduce the noise. They didn't. At 2.30am we had no choice but to vacate the Skipton hotel and drive home.We arrived at home at 3.30am. We could not sleep at thd Skipton hotel fue to high volume noise and noisy guests. Please refund our payment.
