Things to Do in Coromandel

The peninsula’s claim to fame is its shoreline—it’s got sights pretty enough to make you cheap out on décor and simply make a collage of your holiday photos. Don’t know where to start? When you’re ready to play in the sand, Hot Water Beach is where it’s at. Natural hot springs flow beneath the sand, so you can dig out a little pool and have a natural hot tub all to yourself. Trust us, sharing is overrated. Oh, and if you need a break from the waves, hit up the Little Gallery in Tairua for modern art and the Ohinemuri Estate for wine-tasting. Just remember to bring a few bottles back to your Coromandel accommodation so you’ll be ready for a second round.

Getting To & In Coromandel

Ready to start your holiday? Fly into Auckland International Airport (AKL), located 155 km from the Coromandel Peninsula. From there you can either take the ferry across to Coromandel Township, or look into car hire and take the scenic route to your accommodation in Coromandel.
