Enjoy a serene and peaceful get away in this one of a kind fully furnished container cabin, also known as the Fortress in the Pines. Cabin sits on 10 private acres surrounded by tall pines and seasoned hardwoods, tucked into the Angelina National Forrest.
This cabin is the perfect place to unplug and recharge. Out here you can breathe a little deeper and smell the pine trees and fresh air. This is the place to be present with your family and friends. Enjoy the simple pleasure of sitting around a campfire roasting hot dogs and marshmallows. Drink in the sunset on the upper deck while sipping a glass of wine. Play card games. Watch birds. Take scenic walks. Sleep deeply in the absolute quiet waking up with the sun and the surrounding wildlife instead of an alarm.
The cabin is new and includes a private bedroom with a queen bed. The couch converts into an extra bed that can sleep two. Tankless water heater provides instant heat for your showers. Covered patio downstairs and top deck sitting/viewing area. Outdoor gas grill, fire pit, oven, stove, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and refrigerator. The cabin is stocked with cooking essentials as well as plenty of coffee. Due to its remote location, cell service is limited and based on your individual cell provider.
Wondering out will also be a breeze only 30 minutes away from Nacogdoches, oldest town in Texas and home of Stephen F. Austin University. Also, only 25 minutes from Lufkin, TX. If fishing is what you are looking for, Sam Rayburn Reservoir where fishing is second to none, is only minutes away with launch ramps only 2 miles away. For those that want a bit more adventure the Red Bug Cycle Park is minutes away.

Rest and recharge

A peaceful getaway. Host was friendly and gave us good recommendations for eating. The hike down to the lake was adventurous as there wasn’t a trail, aside from those that animals had made before us. It wasn’t difficult tho and the lake spot was worth it. Secluded little beachy spot with trees full of Spanish moss. It was so peaceful down there. Definitely a place to rest and recharge if that’s what you’re looking for.

We highly recommend staying here! Perfect spot to get away and relax. Definitely take advantage of the fire pit! The area on the roof was so nice, at night we were surrounded by fireflies, so pretty! The inside interior was very comfortable. And we can’t say enough good about things about the host, he made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Getaway!

Perfect little getaway for my partner and myself. The place was just as listed. We loved the rooftop sitting area, and made use of the hammock and fire pit! The cabin it's self was very cozy and just big enough for the 2 of us. The kitchen was well stocked, which made cooking there convenient. The location was nice. Out in the woods but only a few mes from the nearest stores. Very quiet and peaceful. Beyond satisfied and can't wait to go back.

This cabin is awesome! A great place to go if you are looking to “check out” for a weekend. We were a little bummed that not all parks in the area were opened, but we eventually found Powell Park. Great place to hang out for the day. Cabin was perfect and exactly what we were looking for.

Fathers day trip

Perfect cozy cabin retreat nestled in the woods. It was a great recharge for the little time we had , very peaceful and comfortable. Host is very open, honest and is a very nice person. Cell service is only bad inside the container because of the material, I had great service right outside the door but that shouldn't matter on a vacation, this spot is great for an actual get away. We will for sure be back again .

Everything you need tucked away in the woods! It was peaceful, private, cozy, clean and comfortable! We were greeted with great hospitality by the owner who we’ve now connected as friends. It was perfect for me and my husband who spent the weekend fishing. Sad we didn’t bring our 2 teenage boys because there was room for them too! Owner was very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed! We appreciate it so much and would definitely recommend this cozy container cabin!!!

Fishing tournament getaway

This place was so peaceful and relaxing. We had a busy wknd on the lake while in a bass fishing tournament so we didn’t get to enjoy all the festivities as much as we would’ve hoped, but it was a clean and comfy place to come home to after a long day on the water. This little gem is tucked away in a perfect spot! Close enough to civilization to not induce withdrawal symptoms, far enough into the wild to feel the connection with nature. Just What the Doctor Ordered

I cannot say enough good things about Abel‘s place. Its location was perfect, adjacent to the Angelina National Forest. I walked right out my doorstep, hiked through a forrest and onto a beautiful lake. The container cabin concept blew me away. It was gorgeous, simple in nature as clean as a five star hotel room. if you’re looking for peace and quiet or being surrounded by a beautiful forest. Ables place is your best bet . Abel greeted me with open arms. I felt like family as he guided around his property describing the cabin, giving me lake directions and hiking advice. He truly cares about his guest and is proud of his place. No better combination for a host in my mind. I cannot wait to bring my kiddos to his place. They are going to lose their minds with all the natural beauty and discovery to be had at this property. I cant wait to see their smiles!
