Sports enthusiasts can get active themselves and explore the area by bike or on foot. In summer, you'll have the opportunity to cheer on athletes at numerous tournaments on the beach. Take advantage of the perfect location for excursions to the North Sea island of Heligoland or to Neuwerk. Here, you'll be spoiled for choice: Take the ferry over and walk back through the mudflats? Or take a horse-drawn carriage ride to the small island.
