Breakfast good. Terrible check in with ‘security’. Noisy room with road traffic noise all night. Green ceiling light shining in room all night. Poor lighting in bathroom. Difficult to regulate hot water in bathroom.
A wonderful older hotel and restaurant. I stayed in the tiny single room - this is not a complaint, it’s a great little room for one person.
Some people in reviews have complained about road noise - they should be realistic about their expectations. It’s an old property right next to a road. If you are someone that’s sensitive to road noise
We had a lovely stay. The room was really comfortable and had everything we needed. The food and drink were excellent. The breakfast was very enjoyable. The staff were fantastic, really friendly and professional.
A treasure of a hotel worth the cost. Very clean rooms with comfy bed and a bath with shower over. Restaurant food was delicious, well priced as well as breakfast which was ordered the night before and you could eat leisurely. Our room included entry to Waddesdon Manor which was a bonus. Car parking was easy. Staff pleasant.
Beautiful hotel. Lovely friendly staff and fantastic meals. We felt very welcome and nothing eas too much trouble. We were even reserved the best table in the restaurant.
Fantastic hosts, and excellent food and service. Will definitely stay here again!

A very friendly hotel
Road noise was a problem but staff moved our room to the back after the first night
Some of hotel looking a little tired abd could have been ckeaner
Excellent location for visiting Waddesdon Manor, entrance is gratis for hotel guests.
Nice garden.
A few local pubs to choose from to eat at.
Decent breakfast.
Our room was small and stuffy
The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant was a very high standard. The breakfast also was good with everything cooked fresh to order. An added bonus included its the booking was entrance to Waddesdon Manor, a national trust house and gardens that are amazing. If not a NT member this would cost £28 each. Only thing to watch out is that the restaurant is not open on Monday or Tuesday evenings, though the Bow pub across the road did very good food.
Stayed for two nights. Friendly staff, restaurant very high quality. Our room was one of the suites which had plenty of room, enough seating and two tv’s.
Our room key gave us free access to Waddesdon Manor- which was spectacular.
Nice rooms, setting and facilities
Doesn't accept cash
Drinks overpriced
