Birthday celebration

Spent the weekend in downtown Denver for my partners 53 rd birthday. Hotel Teatro was great. They had a very sweet card and a bottle for us to celebrate in the room when we arrived. The room itself could use a little improvement, it had some things that weren't in the best shape, specifically the bathroom. The front desk staff was awesome! Very friendly and they gave us great dinner recommendations. The bar staff was also great! Made our night super fun. Hotel location was good too. Would recommend!

Hotel is an old building and very charming. We stayed on the 9th floor because the listing said it had a balcony. Note that the balcony is very cool, but it is not necessarily private. The balcony wraps around the entire top floor, so you can walk around and pass everyone else's rooms (although I did not see any other humans out on the balcony during our stay. If you are on the West side of the building, you will have a view of the mountains (we were on the East and saw buildings). The bathroom was great, loved the spa shower and bath tub. The coffee shop in the lobby is excellent. Also the Nickel restaurant had nice breakfast food for purchase. The staff was so friendly and helpful. A few small complaints.. The mattress was lower at the head than the feet, from what seemed to be many years of use. We stayed during some snow and the room got very cold at night - the the thermostat read 62 degrees even though we had it set to 80. I am guessing this might be due to the building being old and drafty. Both of these resulted in less than desirable sleeping conditions. Complimentary breakfast included orange juice and a burrito. Both days we tried to get burritos they were out of regular ones and only had vegan and gluten free options available. I had a little bit of an upset tummy after the gluten free burrito, although it was tasty. I would stay here again, but next time ask for a West facing room and check on the mattress condition and thermostat.

This hotel is beautiful. We have stayed many times. The front desk staff during this visit was very quiet, difficult to understand, and did not share about the amenities available to guests. We had to ask about each amenity on property and had no guidance about hotel information. They also were unsure about our Expedia benefits. Hoping for an improvement in the check in experience.

Freezing room

Checked into the room and it was 58 degrees. After one hour I called the front desk who called maintenance up. Maintenance said they fixed it and to wait for it to heat up. It did not heat up so I called the front desk again to which they made it obvious that this was a known problem and they would try to find a warmer room. After several tries to find a decently warm room, the manager moved us to a smaller room (only 1 queen). After sitting for two hours in a freezing room and ending up with a smaller room there was no compensation besides paying for the smaller room rather than the larger. I was not impressed with this hotel. Another fellow traveler said his room was 78 degrees. Clearly this hotel has HVAC problems and is not willing to do the right thing to properly fix it.

Charming: Great valet service and great people. The hotel offers a free rides to areas within 2.5 mi. radius, as available, so they gave us a ride to a concert at Ball Arena. We walked back afterward because the hotel is in the proximity. Very nice. Also charming: Complimentary breakfast burritos. Yum. And: Wait staff was lovely NOT CHARMING: We booked a corner deluxe king room. Furnace was loud and kept me awake the first night, the next day it ceased working! We got the run around for over an hour from getting delayed by phone, to the technician telling us he fixed the problem.....but did not. Overall we sat in an unheated room for 3 hours (preceded 2 hrs. by us thinking we did something wrong with the operation of thermostat). We requested a room change requiring room downgrade, but I had to talk the guest person into giving us a refund of the $87 price difference. (we were booked for 2 nights) The second room was warm, but the shower had significant mold on all four of the square interface of tile walls vs. tile floor. I tried to operate the hand held shower but the lever pulled right off. Shower door was loose and leaked water onto floor. Very disappointing.

Disappointing

Really disappointing stay. Incredibly slow valet service. Bathroom was very small and had to tango around the door to use the restroom. Speaking of restroom, the toilet was full of fresh poo stains. The queen bed was questionable and the “HD” tv was fuzzier than the muppet. I will be likely looking elsewhere for my next stay in Denver.

The good: Prosecco and chips on check-in Decent room Convenient location The bad: - First room couldn't get above 55 degrees, so they moved me and my new room maxed out at 65 degrees. Granted it was abnormally cold for Denver I'm told - Bar and kitchen close at 9pm

The hotel was severely understaffed. There was no hot water. There was a video billboard directly pointing into the room window, which made it impossible to sleep. I struggle to see how this property had such a strong rating; it was in no way superior to a budget hotel.
