Varu was exactly in its name, an Atmosphere experience! From the drum ceremony arrival to the birthday dinner on the dock gazebo to the food and the service. Impeccable! I celebrated my birthday at Varu and absolutely loved the experience. Abby, Zune and the entire crew were phenomenal. I made new friendships here. My only suggestions are more entertainment during the evenings. It's a little bit dead after 9pm during the weekdays. But we would absolutely recommend. Charcoal is worth every moment! Food might be the best we've ever had. Try the lamb skewers, Wagyu and Pork Belly. Phenomenal! My water villa was what dreams are made of! Will definitely be back.

I don't understand the people who give less than 4-star reviews to this holiday destination. They must be nitpickers who expect to have the conditions from One and Only Reethi Rah (the neighbouring island) at the prices from the Summer Island. Come on, you could stay there only one hour with the money you paid for two weeks at the Summer Island. All is more than reasonable at the Summer Island, I mean the location, the meals, the staff, snorkelling and diving opportunities.

I had an amazing experience at this hotel — truly unforgettable! I want to extend a big thank you to Shifaz for the warm hospitality and especially to Kaula, who went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. The room was absolutely perfect — stunning views, incredible comfort, and everything was spot on. From the service to the ambiance, every detail was just wow. If you’re looking for a place that offers not just luxury but genuine care, this is it. I highly recommend this hotel — don’t even think twice. If you want to enjoy your stay to the fullest, this is the one. 💯

For Male standards this is a good hotel. The restaurant on the top floor, is good. The staff are extremely helpful. The hotel is opposite a Mosque, therefore expect and early wake up, but every hotel is in close proximity to a Mosque. Personally, Male is not a very nice place to spend time.
