Booked for 7 nights-night #2 the HotWater heater went out. Assumed it was didn't keep up w/ 6 guys. In the AM there was no hot water. Summit Mountain Rentals was notified of the issue. Someone came and flipped the breaker on/off to reset it and left, didn't check if that worked-if you do even basic research on a water heater, this is the wrong thing to do. We found out the next afternoon from a plumber that arrived - that they had been doing the reset thing a lot. The entire interior of the unit was rusted out, leaking, the circuitry was completely rusted-very surprised there wasn't an electrical fire-it was BAD. The communication with SMR was not great-I had to reach out to them, during my ski trip, for updates-trying to salvage this trip and not have to move to a different location last minute. There was no sense of urgency, finally we had enough- I booked somewhere else and we moved out of the unit. SMR did refund what was about 2/3 of our fee, but didn't cover any hassle/inconvenience we endured. The offer to move us to a different house was too little, too late - we had enough. If the condition of this house aside from the water heater is any indication of how they manage properties, we were not risking another one. SMR is negligent on maintenance of this property. Do not stay until it is FIXED. Window cranks broken, Pool cues,pingpong paddles unusable, oven stunk horribly. VERY disappointing quality for this price point. Won't stay in a SMR property again.
