The place itself is fine. Biggest problem is water; there wasn’t hot water in the evenings to shower or to wash dishes (we took turns showering every other day), and by day 3 there was no cold water pressure, so I couldn’t even wash my hair the rest of the week. The other issue was the atrocious smell. Neighbors smoked cigarettes constantly, and the smell was all in the entrance and even into the apartment. On the Saturday a neighbor came and used the clothes dryer rack outside and took it away. I suspect upstairs neighbors were running a washing machine several times every day; there was a machine noise squeak that lasted for hours and the lack of water pressure may have come from that? And I don’t know if they belonged to the apartment or not, but there were two twin mattresses outside the patio door; they were moved to the side of the building after the second day.
