Good but not great

Overall good! Most staff really friendly and helpful! Especially the lady that greeted us to breakfast for the first two mornings! The hotel was clean and in a really good spot! The only downside being the aircon in the room not working! They did try and sort it without success! They did however move us to another room the first night but had to move us back for the last two nights! Disappointing as the room did get warm and we found out we weren’t the only ones with that issue

Bar not what it used to be. Limited food choices.

Work trip regularly stay at The View. Reception staff helpful as ever and explained the new parking restrictions put in place by the council. Which was fine. Room clean. Bar service was terrible. Not sure if new staff. Seemed like they didn’t know what they were doing. Very limited food choice in bar. Not everyone wants to sit in the restaurant. But ordered food. Food arrived and he Asked if I’d ordered food despite table number being correct. Food was wrong I accepted it. 15 mins later the guy collected my plate. 10 mins later the same guy was offering me fries. Then seemed to ask most people if they were there’s. Tables not clean service was not good. Breakfast was awfully dry looking so I passed and went elsewhere.

Twin sea view balcony room higher floor

We have stayed at this hotel over half a dozen times and have always found it comfortable and clean. We always request a low floor room and when we first booked about 3 years ago the hotel always allocated this. The last two times we have been allocated higher floors, when asked only to be told, we are fully booked. We always book months in advance and why our request isn’t taken into consideration, I don’t know. We pay for a premium room and with better planning I am sure our request could be made.

Room was clean and tidy with a great view. The problem was we had a single room they just put a double bed in making the room so small with very little room to walk rnd one bedside table one light. Paid far too much for this room and when mentioned it at check out told that’s just how they are on the 7th floor you should have booked 6th. What kinda answer is that?? Very disappointing
