Light-Filled Romantic Cottage Close to Village, Beach, Bike Path, Nature Trails

Your comfort and security is of the utmost importance to us. Our home is thoroughly cleaned before and after your visit. Our cleaning service — working closely with us — are taking increased precautions to make certain our properties exceed expectations.

This sophisticated light filled high end one bedroom guest house with private deck, is landscaped and offers extraordinary access to town (1 mile) and South Beach (2 miles) along the bike path! Visit the newly renovated Katama Store and new restaurant, Katama Kitchen, at the grass airport – both within easy walking distance. Air conditioned, the house is a year-round retreat available off season as well as in the height of the summer and shoulder seasons.

We have a main house on the property, in front and separate from the guest house. Please see VRBO property ID: 456480. The guest house has its own parking area; a privacy fence constructed to assure an attractive and natural boundary between the two properties; and a bicycle shed for the protection of your bikes, fishing gear, or other outdoor extras you may bring.

The year-round guest house is air conditioned and heated for the cooler (and quieter months of the year). The guest house has hardwood floors and upscale tile; maple kitchen cabinets and quartz counter-tops, along with a contemporary flair. It is an open floor plan concept designed to be an intimate escape for the discerning vacationing Vineyard couple. All new kitchen appliances, Weber gas grill and outdoor shower complete the package. You need only remember your bikes!

The bedroom has a king-size bed, full dresser and tailored closet. The bath is outfitted with private water closet, large glass enclosed shower and deep soaking tub. The room also has a well-stocked linen closet. Towels and sheets are provided.

The perfect place to stay for a quiet getaway. The location was a quick walk to town and a short drive to the best spots on MV. Settling inside for a quiet rainy day was relaxing and cozy. Great communication with the owner and a pristine property definately want to come back!

Great cottage for for 2!

Great cottage for 2 guests close to town. Very well stocked with everything you would need. Mary Jane was great to work with. House was clean and they also had beach chair and umbrellas which was great. Only suggestion would be new pillows. Would stay again or recommend.

Best place for a week away

We had the best week and could not have been more comfortable staying in this home. It had everything we expected or needed and so much more. The location is right by a bike path and some awesome beaches and restaurants. Mary Jane was fast to respond if we ever needed anything. We will be staying here again!

Wonderful, relaxing getaway

This was our first visit to Martha's Vineyard and it won't be our last! The well-appointed guest house is bright and cozy and although you can't beat the restaurants on the island, we found we enjoyed many of our evenings "cooking in" and relaxing in this wonderful space. Perfectly beautiful romantic getaway.

Because this was our honeymoon I wanted it to be special and intimate. My worries that it would be too small were gone as soon as I stepped into this cottage. We found it perfectly sized for the two of us with all the modern conveniences. We enjoyed biking and exploring the island's lighthouses and restaurants. This was our first time on MV and we would like to return to our wonderful memories by coming back to this Katama guest house.

A little gem

Lovely little 1 BR, 1 bath in Katama, MA My only concern is that some of the amenities are a little tired. The bath towels and dish towels are "well used" and really need to be replaced, and I understand that this is a cabin for 2 but it would be nice to have more than 2 wineglasses, coffee mugs, etc.

Wonderful Katama Cottage

This was our second time staying at Mary Jane's cottage and, in the words of my husband, "it was even better than I remembered!". We were fortunate enough to book our Vineyard trip for two weeks and it was pure bliss. The location absolutely cannot be beat. It's so convenient to South Beach as well as Edgartown center and you can really take advantage of everything the island has to offer. We especially loved being close to Morning Glory Farm and the Katama General Store. The property itself feels as fresh and new as the first time we stayed here two summers ago. The kitchen is incredibly well stocked and has everything that you might need to be able to prepare meals at home. Mary Jane is a joy to communicate with, and I agree with other reviewers who mentioned that she is never overbearing but answers every inquiry promptly and thoughtfully. We are looking forward to our return trip!

Great Experience

My wife and I have been going to the vineyard for years and this was our first time renting a home as we used to stay at a friends. The house was even nicer than we expected, very clean, like new, and in a good location. Close to downtown Edgartown and south beach. We will certainly be staying here again!

Wonderful in every way

The guesthouse provided the perfect MV vacation retreat for us. Beautiful, comfortable, and clean, it contained an ample bedroom, a large bathroon, an open concept living / dining / kitchen area, a deck, and a refreshing outdoor shower to wash the sand off after a day at the beach. The kitchen is nicely set-up for cooking, not that we used it, there are so many good restaurants to choose from on the island. The Guesthouse is well situated midway between “downtown” Edgartown and the beach; it was a 30 minute walk to town for dinner (you don’t want to try to find parking in town!) or a 5 minute drive to South Beach. Mary Jane was the perfect mix of attentive and hands-off. She responded almost immediately to any email or text that we sent before or during our stay, but she was not intrusive and we felt like we had our own cottage of tranquility behind the privacy fence shielding us from the main house. We will be back!
