Renovations Complete February 2026...new windows, new floors, new sheetrock, new siding....it's like a new home!

Don't let then name fool you; we love all animals but only allow dogs to visit due to the fact that some guest's do have allergies to cats. (note: this home has check in/out day of Saturdays during late spring, summer and right after summer)

This home offers you 4 bedrooms (two with ocean views), 2 baths, a family room with gorgeous ocean views, a perfect room to watch the games with a large screen tv and fireplace.
Guest Bedroom 1 is the main bedroom located on the front (Palmetto Side) left side of house and sleeps 2. This room has a queen bed, tv to be installed March 2026 and a private entrance to Jack and Jill Bath.
Guest Bedroom 2 is on the front right side of the house and sleeps 4 in one queen stand alone bed and and bunk bed which has a twin on top and bottom. This room features a tv, (to be installed March 2026), and views of the ocean.
Guest Bedroom 3 is located on the back right side of the house and features a queen bed.
Guest Bedroom 4 is located on the back left side of the house and sleeps 4. This room has a queen stand alone bed and a bunk bed with a twin on bottom and a twin on top. This room has a private entrance to the Jack and Jill Bath shared with the Main Guest Bedroom.

Our kitchen allows you to cook while enjoying the ocean views and socializing; all at the same time. Eat at the main dining table or the bar with bar stools or take your plates out to the screen porch or even down to the table under the house that seats 4.

Relax for hours in a rocking chair take in the views of the ocean from our large screened in porch with rocking chairs and a table and chairs for bistro dining.
Go for a swim in the ocean and return to enjoy our outdoor enclosed hot and cold shower to get that sand off before entering the house. Take a hour or two and relax in the hammock in the shade or sit on the swing under the house. This is how to really relax.

Great place that just needs a few updates

We enjoyed our time. The things we needed addressed with the house, the property management quickly sent someone to address. Once these were done, our stay was seemless. We are looking into coming back again real soon. We truly loved our time here. And best part? You have direct access to the beach right across the street. There’s no house in front of the property so it’s basically beach front!

Edisto vacation

The home was very clean and the location was great.We enjoyed the beach, relaxing and reading. We go to Edisto every year and really enjoy the island. The only downsides were the lack of a tv in the main living area and the noise from the window air conditioners. Overall it was a wonderful experience.

Beach vaca

House was what we expected. Plenty if room and size for many people. It was my husband and I with 4 kids and a dog. We also had 3 grandparents with us. Never felt like it was too small. Looked just like the pictures. Showers are great. If you plan to cook a lot, bring own pans. The ones there have been well used.

Relaxing Getaway

Had such a relaxing time sitting on the screened porch, watching the waves crashing onto the shore across the street and listening to the sounds of the waves. Walked the beach across from this house with our family. It was beautiful. The house was very comfortable and clean.

Spectacular!

Oceanview was fabulous. We watched the sunrise, full moon, Storm with beautiful lightening bolts from the safety of our full view living room! Large home with plenty of privacy, comfort, and warmth. Can't wait to do it again!

Has a great view, had really nice view from screened in front porch. Rooms were decorated nicely, kitchen was equipped well, nice dinning area for a large group. Bedrooms were setup well, great for a family or even for just one was great. Email responses from Richard Howe’s was almost non existent not the way I am respond to my customers I am more accustomed to responding to my customers in a timely manor. Not ignoring questions & concerns. Location was nice, you can walk to a couple of the restaurants with less than two miles.

Great place

This was our second time staying here. We always enjoy it on Edisto. Right by the beach. The only thing they need to work on is the AC. It couldn’t keep up even though it was only 85 degrees. Other than that, it was great

Perfect Get-A-Way Spot

Property was a perfect getaway location for our Spring Break vacation during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even though the house had been cleaned prior to our arrival we went through it and disinfected everything before brought our stuff in. At 5 days after our return we still have no symptoms. The house was spacious, clean with the beach just across the street. Long walks on the beach with almost no encounters with others made for a stress free vacation. Our 11 year old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog thought it was perfect... he slept pretty much the whole time. We’ll definitely come back

We had a very nice stay! The house is located on a perfect spot, walking distances from shops & restuarant, right across the street from the beach, and the views are amazing!!! House layout was perfect!! Did not realize the family room had a door and could easly make as a 5th bed room. Two of our guests during our stay are maintenance technicians from the mid-west...so they pointed out some obsious maintenance needs of the house such as doors that do not shut properly, light bulbs were missing or burnt out, closest doors missing rollers, paper towel wedged in the patio doors...not large issues, but minor items that makes this beautiful property seem that it is not cared for as it deserve. Overall, we had a lovely stay and will inquire on renting the property in years to come!!!

Wonderful House for Families, Great Location

We had such a wonderful time staying at Barker's Meow! We had a gaggle of little cousins who only get to see each other once a year and the rooms with bunk beds were so wonderful to give the kids a chance to bond in a sleepover summer camp atmosphere. Overall the house was lovely and had everything we needed. We spent many wonderful relaxing hours on the front porch listening to the waves and staring at the stars, and I loved waking up to a view of the ocean. Beach access was literally just crossing the street (I thought we might have to walk down the block to a beach access point, but that was not the case). And the kids loved the hammock and the porch swing. Also having a separate den and living room was a great way for the kids to be able to play games and have fun while us parents were still able to relax in the living room. Plenty of space for everyone and a nice kitchen. We've stayed at a number of different houses on Edisto over the years, and this one was really beautiful, well-maintained, and a nice location. Thank you!!

Family and Friends retreat to the beach

Actually more space than expected, with back living area that could be closed off. General cleanliness good, however, floor boards and walls (use Mr. clean sponges) with children's foot prints to the side of beds could have been cleaned up. The bathroom was clean and the fresh, clean shower curtains were thoughtful. Lots of dinner ware (but should get rid of the plastic that previous folks have microwaved and blistered -- not good for eating on). LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the porch. Damaged chair was called into PM early in visit and never repaired. GREAT shower downstairs -- essential when coming in from the beach. Lots of extra paved room on beach level to leave beach items away from street view. GREAT location.
