Enjoy lake life, up north outings and a family friendly small town! We have the best location--2 blocks to beach and downtown restaurants, shopping and dining! 3 parking spaces, great wrap around porch, deck, updated kitchen and fun extras like corn hole and fire pit! Elk Rapids is the perfect escape, a walking town with a wonderful main street and beautiful beach and playground on Grand Traverse Bay. We are also conveniently located to Traverse City, Torch Lake, Charlevoix and more for day trips!

Our home is one of the largest in Elk Rapids so everyone can have some personal space when needed. The second floor has 3 Bedrooms each with a queen bed, one of which has an additional sitting area with futon and TV. The 3rd floor has 4 twin beds, futon and TV. With the 3 bedrooms and the entire 3rd floor space, the home easily sleeps 10 and with the futons you can sleep up to 12.

Elk Rapids is the perfect escape, a walking town with a wonderful main street full of unique small shops, movie theatre and dining options, from the popular Towne Pub to Cellar 152 with its craft beer and wine to the new gourmet Pizza place, there is something for everyone.

If you are an equestrian, you can't find a better location for the Great Lakes Equestrian Festival held in June, July, August and September. An easy 15 minute drive will get you to the show with no traffic!

If you want to explore, Elk Rapids is centrally located for so many great Up North adventures year round. Traverse City is just a short drive with great events, shopping, mini golf and dining. If you are a wine drinker the Old Mission and Lelanau peninsula's offer a large number of wineries and tasting facilities. Nearby Torch Lake is perfect for renting a boat and enjoying this #3 most beautiful lake in the world! Charlevoix and Petoskey are less than an hour away, where you can check out the mushroom homes and Petoskey stones! And the famous Great Bear Dunes will give you a view and a challenge like no other!

Boring but necessary details: We require all renters to be 25 years of age or older. Short term rental agreement required. 50% of rental due at time of reservation. Balance due 30 days before stay. Full refund if cancelled 60 days prior to first day of rental period. 50% refund if cancelled 30 days prior to first day of rental period. No refunds if cancelled less than 30 days prior to the first day of the rental period. Rental period during the peak season, June-August, is weekly from Sunday--Sunday. Check in at 4:00 p.m., check out at 10:00 a.m. During the off-season we allow weekend rentals (minimum 2 days) and we provide extended check in/out timing: check in is 1pm and check out is 4pm to allow you to make the most of your weekend get aways!

Wedding Weekend

We invited friends from out of town to stay at this property during our wedding weekend in Elk Rapids and all had a phenomenal time! There were enough places to sleep for all of us, and the quality of the space made everyone feel they were staying somewhere special. The Toomeys maintain their home very well and there was a delightful amount of space to sit on the porch or inside and catch up with loved ones. Would absolutely stay here again if given the opportunity!

Gorgeous, welcoming home in perfect location!

My family and I loved our stay in this beautiful home! There was plenty of space for all of us (5 adults) with room to spare. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the dining room had a large table that could easily accommodate everyone for a sit down dinner. All of the rooms were very comfortable with many thoughtful details. We loved sitting on the front porch reading and watching the world go by. The public beach and the shops and restaurants of River Street were just a couple of blocks away, and we walked there several times a day. We highly recommend this home and hope to rent it again next summer.

Wonderful Stay

We were a large group in town Memorial Day Weekend for the Bayshore races. Monica’s home is incredibly charming, well-appointed and in a great location in Elk Rapids. There was enough room in the house for our group of 12 runners/walkers! Monica is an incredible host and communicated with us often regarding check-in/checkout and providing lots of tips and recommendations for our stay. I will definitely refer others to this property!

Quiet Bachelorette Weekend

We had a fantastic weekend of 10 women (age 25-45ish)! Everything we could possibly need was available either in walking distance, or already in the house. We did a have a slight hiccup for check in as the last guests had forgotten to complete the check out procedure, but the missed time at check in was provided at our check out to compensate (which we loved). The entire time we had direct communication with Monica, and she was very quick to respond and was very willing to help. Seriously! That 3rd floor room with all the twin beds! It's amazing! All of us adult women wanted to sleep up there because it was THAT COOL!!! It was like a childhood dream come true. This would be an excellent rental for multiple families with younger kids. We had a very nice conversation with the neighbors on check out day, and he said we "did very well," I'm not sure what he expected, but maybe it was because we were all exhausted and sleeping by the city quiet hours of 11pm? We would certainly rent this property again, and maybe bring our kids with us next time! (Maybe... we might have to fight them for that 3rd floor room).

You won't be disappointed.

Our family had a wonderful time at the property. Super location, very roomy, well stocked, everything in good operating condition. We were a party of 5 adults but we also were able to host a few other local friends/family for a couple of meals and smores using the large kitchen and backyard. Monica is a great host. Keeping us updated and quick to respond to all of our requests. We had no issues and will definitely keep this property at the top of our list for our next Elk Rapids visit.

Can't say enough about our week at this Elk Rapids home! The home has such a comfortable beach "vibe." Ample room for all, clean, well stocked with the basic necessities. If you're looking for something walking distance to town, the beach, activities for the kids...you've found it!

Great location, great house

This house was the perfect size for a group of friends celebrating a 30th birthday. It was clean, comfortable and had many amenities (household supplies, grill, yard games, etc). The house is a very short walk to beach and Elk Rapids so a perfect location. Monica was proactive in her communication and provided great information about Elk Rapids and the house to help prep us for arrival. She checked in a couple times throughout the weekend to make sure we had all we needed. We would love to stay here again in the future!

Perfect location for family fun

The home was perfect for our two families. We had 6 kids ranging in from ages 4-17, and we couldn't imagine a better location for all of us to spend a week together near Lake Michigan. The house is spacious, bright, and charming, with a nice porch and back deck, as well as lots of yard space for the kids to run around and play. It's located just 3 blocks from the beach and main street area of the quaint Town of Elk Rapids. This allowed easy trips back and forth for our families to come and go as we pleased. Monica was also an excellent host. The week before we arrived, she helped us to identify trails to ride and run on, and was incredibly communicative and responsive throughout our stay. She recommended reserving a boat rental for Torch Lake, which we did, and it proved to be one of the highlights of the trip. We'll definitely be back!

Excellent week in a great house and adorable town

Our family of two adults and three boys 6,8, 10 stayed in this house with my parents. We had plenty of room to spread out. The boys loved the third floor which they named “the bunkhouse.” All of the beds were very comfortable. The Victorian charm of this house will melt your heart, but you will be pleased with all of the modern amenities and upgrades. The street was very quiet and the walk to town and beach was very quick and easy. We enjoyed the Ultimate Fishing Charter which we took from the Dock that was 0.3 miles from the house. We rented a water ski boat from Elk River Marina. We rented a lily pad for the kids to jump on from a cute place uptown as well. We enjoyed the little stores in the town. Our kids especially loved the charming little toy store. We loved eating on the water at the Riverwalk Taproom and at Cellar 152.
