This old house was amazing! Plenty of room for the 21 of us. Such unique interior design, I think we counted 68 doors on the interior! The kitchen looked small from the pictures but there is an over abundance of storage areas. Probably the best stocked I have ever had in a vacation rental. Easy to get to Acadia too!

Great family gathering spot!
As a family of 18 traveling together, we found this was the perfect place for all of us to be able to stay together in one place, while at the same time, having plenty of space to spread out! The home is very comfortable and equipped with everything you would need for your stay! I would highly recommend this home for a large group! Host was very responsive to questions before and during our stay. Two thumbs up!

Perfectly Accommodating!
What a wonderful home for a family reunion/birthday party! Our ages ranged from 11 to 81. As I wandered the many halls and rooms I liked to imagine I was in a Jane Austen or E.M. Forester novel. We all loved the house so much. It's true as other reviewers mentioned it's a little spare for the folks who use walkers and canes, no hand holds in the bathrooms and all showers are (gorgeous) on the second floor. But we worked it out fine. The younger set loved the loft space. Each bedroom has its own lovely personality. The multiple living rooms are cozy and grand at the same time. Plenty of spaces to gather as well as nooks to provide respite from the fray. Only thing I really missed was a teapot. The house has probably seen many arrive, to brew tea and break through the years. I almost bought one at 1A Relics to leave behind but decided I could survive just steeping my tea in one of the million mugs for a few days. Maybe next time I'll bring one ;-)Cale is a great host and the communication was clear and easy.Thank you again, Cale, for not keeping this house entirely to yourself!

Family Reunion at Jarvis Homestead
The Jarvis was just perfect for our family reunion! There was plenty of room, both inside and outside to gather and celebrate. At the same time, everyone had their own luxurious private space. We spent much time around the enormous dining room table having meals, playing games, and telling stories. For morning coffee, we gathered around the outdoor gas fire pit, and for our not-to-be-missed NFL games, we enjoyed the spacious living room and huge tv. Host Cale Jacobson was terrific and we felt very comfortable from for the entire stay. Many Thanks!

Family fun in Maine
To celebrate my wife’s 70th birthday,a large place was needed for my children and grandchildren. All 17 of us picked a winner - The Jarvis Mansion! Nicely located for day trips to Acadia and Bar Harbor. We all welcomed the heated pool and hot tub after fun sightseeing days. Communication was easy with our hosts. There is no better place on earth to enjoy lobster dinners.

Family Reunion
We had family of multiple generations, aged 3-90. The home was able to accommodate our group. Note that there are no showers on the first floor, which was a little problematic for one of our group. The many sitting/living spaces allowed everyone to sit together and for smaller groups to visit in quiet. The smaller living area beyond the laundry was a great space for the toddler to chill. Easy walk to downtown Ellsworth which has a variety of stores and restaurant/bars. Outdoor cabana area was comfortable and used often. Manager responded to questions and concerns promptly and was helpful and accommodating. We gathered in the sun room each morning to plan our day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia.

Multigenerational Family Girls’ Weekend
13 of us, aged 1 to 84, enjoyed this year’s family Girls’ Weekend at the Jarvis Homestead. Lots of room to gather, chat, eat, and play. Bedrooms aplenty—all with comfy beds. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking all weekend (including salt & pepper). The hot tub was a hit. Convenient location for walking and exploring downtown. Thank you for everything. We will be back!

Terrific stay!
What a wonderful home! Such a treat to stay in a historical house. The owners have made it cozy and welcoming. We were 6 couples so plenty of bedrooms. We had fun picturing the story that each room (sunroom, living room, dining room, parlor) had to tell. Would love to know more history of the home and who lived there. It was a bit cool for the pool, but some braved it. We enjoyed the hot tub and the terrific seating area outside (gas fire table). The beds were very comfortable. Cale was easy to get ahold of when we needed him. Great stay!

Perfect family celebration location
17 of us celebrated 3 family birthdays. Loved this location. Weather was perfect. We were able to spend time outside swimming, sitting in cabana by fire table and enjoying the hot tub. Space is ideal for large groups- plenty of rooms and dining table is big enough that we could eat together. Host sends a wonderful guidebook to the area.
Everything in home is labeled so it was pretty simple to find what we needed. Historic home so light switches are unique and fun. Liked that host allows people to leave extra food in pantry. We asked if there was a mixer and host ordered one so we could bake birthday cakes. Very helpful!
We went to Acadia several times, walked to downtown Ellsworth and enjoyed Bar Harbor area. Will definitely stay here again.

An Incredible Experience. We Will Be Back!
My family and I were looking for a quick getaway to Maine and wanted to visit Bar Harbor and some of Maine’s other attractions like Acadia National Park. This spectacular house ended up overshadowing any of the sight seeing we planned on doing and for that reason we spent the majority of our time enjoying all that the Jarvis Homestead had to offer. The house was immaculate and everything functioned better than advertised, including the hot tub, which was an awesome perk. Communication with the hosts was fast and efficient and any questions were answered quickly and even came with recommendations that we happily took being new to the area. I would more than recommend this wonderful place to any group small or large and we will certainly be back again soon.

Great getaway
Our group of 6 adults and 8 kids ages 5-17 had so much fun at Jarvis House. I messaged with Cale several times prior to arrival and a few times throughout our stay with questions that arose! I never had to wait more than a few minutes for a response.
The house itself was just as described. There was so much space for us to gather and when we needed space away there was plenty of room for that too!! There was easily enough space for two more families to fit comfortably! The house has been beautifully preserved and felt like stepping back in time.
The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to prepare meals for our crew! The second refrigerator in the cottage was helpful to store drinks!!
We were in town for a basketball tournament and the keyless entry made it so simple for four families going in different directions!
The hot tub was amazing and Cale was available for questions we had about using it. We all talked about how fun it would be to return in the summer to use the pool!
