3 bedroom, 1full bathroom, 1 toilet outside, self-contained house. Located in Second Valley-5minute Walk to Eurong Resort.
Fraser Island is a remote location and presents unique requirements. Before booking your stay you must be fully aware of the limitations and circumstances living "offgrid" and in a remote location. Its our family holiday home, not an inner city penthouse. Power, Water & Facilities can be limited if problems arise.
1. POWER - Supplied entirely by solar and batteries "offgrid" so only appliances already in the house may be used. ABSOLUTELY NO HAIR DRYERS Or ENGEL TYPE FRIDGES ARE TO BE PLUGGED INTO THE HOUSE POWER. CPAP, phone and laptop charging ok. No Wi-FI.
PROBLEMS - If any problems arise, (Power issues, water issues, gas issues etc) you must be aware and accept the remoteness of Basically, what we are saying is there is no 24
concierge or reception available.
Max 2 Families - with no more than 6 people total. There is only 2 toilets and 1 shower and limited power outlets for cpap etc.
No you cant bring swags, no you cant sleep in a tent in the yard.
The house offgrid systems CAN NOT handle more than 6 so please don't ask. If you turn up with more than 6, I'm sorry but
you will be asked to leave.
The House:
The house has three bedrooms can sleep 6 people.
Bedroom 1 - Queen Size Bed
Bedroom 2 – Queen Size Bed
Bedroom 3 – Double Size Bed.
The lounge/dining area has Satellite TV. PLEASE NOTE THE WEATHER CAN AFFECT THE FREE TO AIR TV SIGNAL SO IT IS NOT ALWAYS GUARANTEED. There is NO DVD player at the house or WiFi. Dining table with 6 stools, 3 & 2-seater lounge (THESE ARE NOT BEDS)
The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove/oven, a large electric fridge/freezer. All utensils are supplied – pots, pans, crockery, and cutlery.
Laundry – Has a small washing machine to use on COLD WASH and sunny days only, please shake sand and heavy mud off before using machine.
There are ceiling fans/Pedal stool fan and insect screens throughout the house and security screens on front door and laundry door. The house runs off Gas for the hot water and cooking this can run out unexpectedly at times, please notify us asap and we will get someone to change over the gas bottle as soon as possible.
Outside:
Our undercover BBQ area comes straight of the dinning room and has a large table and chairs along with gas BBQ with hood. Extra Gas bottles located underneath bench – if they do run out please advise us so we can arrange a change over.
What to bring with you:
NO LINEN IS SUPPLIED you will need to bring these with you! Sleeping bags are not acceptable. Cleaning fee will be added if protectors are left soiled or dirty.
You will need to bring your own bed linen (Top /bottom sheets, pillowcases), your towels, personal items, toilet rolls, garbage bags, matches/lighter, food, cooking oils, condiments, and drinks.
We do provide pillows, comforters, and blankets for your stay, a toilet roll in each bathroom & a garbage bag. We provide dishwashing liquid, chux, and a scourer for the kitchen. There are bathmats for each bathroom and a tea towel for your use so no need to bring these.
Power:
The house runs solely off SOLAR POWER without a backup generator, because of this there are to be NO toasters, hairdryers/straighteners, car fridges, rice cookers, air fryers, pie makers, etc anything with a heating element as these can NOT be used as they draw too much power and will trip the solar power to the property, we suggest you only use what is supplied. We do not have air conditioning or heating like most other houses on the island; these use too much power if this is a requirement a hotel would be best.
We kindly ask that you please be mindful of power usage at all times, especially on cloudy days and we kindly ask that you turn all lights, fans, and plug sockets off such as phone chargers when they are not in use and when you are out for the day as these will draw down the power, also leaving lights on overnight will draw down the power bank and it may leave you without power until the backup kicks in.
Water: The house runs solely off tank water which is filtered and safe to drink.
PLEASE DO NOT WASH CARS, there is a car wash at the back of the resort you can use.
Other things to be noted:
All Rubbish needs to be disposed of when leaving and the property left clean and tidy, or cleaning fee will apply.
Please note: The Granny flat at the back of the house may be occupied or accessed by the hosts or maintenance people during your stay when maintenance, solar, etc needs attention, you will usually be notified if this is the case.
You agree that the maximum number of guests on and in the property must not exceed 6 people, if found to be more guests at the house you will be evicted immediately with no refund!
Any damages found upon your check in needs to be reported to host within 24hrs of check in, if not known or notified by host about prior to check in.
No swags or tents to be set up on property.
Keep noise to a minimum from 10pm for neighboring residents. Absolutely No parties or loud music/noise, if you want to do this please take this down to the beach away from residents!

Please note:*Critters such as: ants, spiders, mosquitos, moths, flies, and many other things are native to this area and it is typical *INSIDE or AROUND ALL homes* on the island to have an occasional sighting of any of these small creatures especially when doors are opening and closing. Please keep in mind you are booking a trip in Queensland with many wildlife around. We prepare for such with pest spray etc, but we give no refunds for seeing any of these creatures & want to prepare our guests for what to expect. Please respect nature & accept all that comes with it if booking here. ***Please do not book if this is an issue. We only want you to have a great time*** If there is ever an abundance of ants or other pests inside etc, you can notify us and we can send our handyman to spray for you.
*You may also see Goannas, lizards, and a variety of birds. Please don’t feed them as they will hang around and the cockatoos will pick at the rails and destroy things when nobody is home.
If property is left in disarray a cleaning fee will be applied.
