About this property

Pine Lodge: Lake Michigan Beach Access, Private Swimming Pool & Hot Tub, Sauna

Pine Lodge at Groesbeck Beach

Enjoy endless days along the shores of Lake Michigan on Groesbeck Beach's private 255' of Lake Michigan frontage. Tucked back, this cove of frontage boasts higher protection from erosion and offers a wide beach* to enjoy. Peacefully nestled on a dramatic, nature-filled bluff above Lake Michigan, Groesbeck Beach welcomes you with the solace, quiet, and privacy you seek.

Located in pastoral Glenn between Saugatuck and South Haven, you and your guests will find yourselves somewhere back in time as you approach the expansive compound sitting majestically at the end of a winding, coast-hugging road where it is not unusual to see a gathering of deer lazily grazing.

The property's rich history is palpable and goes back more than 100 years. Originally built in 1903 by the Chicago Diocese of the Episcopal Church as the summer home of the Girls' Friendly Society—a haven for young ladies who would arrive at the nearby fruit docks by boat to enjoy crafts, games, and socializing away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The property is home to two unique structures, Pine Lodge and Bluffside, both extensively updated and modernized in 2021 while retaining their historic character. Rent them together for large gatherings or separately for more intimate stays; both enjoy convenient access to 255 feet of pristine fresh-water beach. After a day at the beach, spend the evening playing lawn games or roasting s'mores around your fire pit on the expansive lawn overlooking Lake Michigan.

Spend a day or two in downtown Saugatuck or South Haven—both only 11 short miles away—to immerse yourself in the local flavor of eateries, boutiques, art galleries, and more. Just a short bike ride away, you'll find an assortment of orchards, wineries, and Waypost Brewing - one of the best up-and-coming breweries in the state.

Unlike any property in Michigan, Groesbeck Beach is sure to leave you with lasting memories and the desire to return again and again.

Fantastic family property

This large house (6 upstairs bedrooms with 3 en-suite bathrooms) was built in 1903 and it looked it with beautiful stone fireplace and wooden floors and staircase. An addition with two bedrooms and living room was perfect for this older couple who didn’t want the stairs. The pool was amazing as was the fire pit with Adirondack chairs around it! A lovely view of Lake Michigan. Just wish they could get rid of the cottonwood tree which “snowed” on us all week! Perfect for our group of 9 kids and 8 adults.
