Welcome to Sand Caper 509, a resort-style condo that has two bedrooms and two baths with generous square footage on the fifth floor. Sand Caper requires a 2-week minimum stay. An atrium open to the sky seven stories up with tropical foliage in the center of the building lends to an island atmosphere without even leaving the resort. The location is at the quiet southern end of Estero Island and is within walking distance of a variety of amenities that include a public marina and movie theater. A Wyndham resort is, with a Pincher's Crab Shack restaurant. Directly across the boulevard is a CVS pharmacy and Santini Marina Plaza, with many shops and restaurants. The island's major supermarket, Publix, is just a 2-mile drive away. There is also quick exit via the south bridge to nearby Naples, Bonita Springs, Estero and RSW International Airport. The beach at this portion of the island is expansive, connecting its guests to seven miles of white sugar sand beach. Trolley service is available from directly in front of Santini Plaza to the Times Square area, the central hub of Fort Myers Beach, where there is an extended fishing pier and too many clubs, restaurants, and boutiques to count. The trolley can also take you south to the secluded Lovers Key Park. Amenities at Sand Caper include a heated pool, as well as covered and reserved parking. There are dedicated areas for gas BBQ grills, tables and chairs, as well as a place to rinse the sand off your shoes and feet before re-entering the building. Condo amenities include air conditioning, ceiling fans, all linens and towels provided, private laundry, and complimentary WiFi and cable TV.

Entry at ground level is through a secure lobby where an elevator takes you to #509. Bellman trolleys are available on arrival. Walk into a foyer and into the open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas. The kitchen has plenty of granite counter space and well-stocked cabinets to make it easier to prepare full-course meals, should that be on your list. Just bring the food! Appliances are all stainless-steel and include a refrigerator with freezer drawer, glass-top range and oven, built-in above-range microwave oven, and dishwasher. There is a pass-through to the adjacent dining area, where there is a table seating six. This flows into the living area, which is comfortably furnished with sofas, chairs, and a large flat screen TV. Sliding glass doors open to the screened-in, furnished balcony, offering a partial beach view and a sweeping vista of the coastline curving toward Sanibel Island to the north, all from a fifth-floor vantage point..

The primary bedroom has a king-size bed, night stands and lamps and a chest of drawers with flat screen TV. Sliding glass doors provide access out to the furnished balcony. The en suite bathroom has a nicely tiled walk-in shower, commode and vanity with lavatory and storage space beneath. There is a walk-in closet with plenty of storage space. The guest bedroom has a queen-size bed, night stand and lamp, triple dresser with flat screen TV and ample closet space. Adjacent to the guest room is the guest bath with a combination tub/shower, commode and vanity with lavatory and storage space beneath.

The host had hired a company to take care of the hands on interaction with the visitors and that was extremely unsatisfactory. Right from the begining the code to open the unit door was incorect so I was left standing in the semi darkness trying to find and call the agencies number. Once into the unit I found that there was no hot water, the televisons did not work and then dicovered that there was no water pressure in the master bath. Altogether not satisf
