Literally left briefly after checking in. The place smelled awful, even after airing it out for a few hours and leaving for dinner. Carpets in halls were disgusting, and you get a physical key to lock/unlock the door. Major fire hazard in that you have to lock the door from inside, with the key, as well as unlock/open door. Would basically die in a fire. Went and stayed near the airport for basically the same price, and wish we would have done that before. It's also very loud, and aging. If location matters, I stayed at another hotel about a 15 min walk away another day that was way nicer, but would avoid next to the central station.

The hotel is conveniently located close to a subway station, making it easy to get around. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, which was a big plus. The beds were comfortable, and overall, the stay was okay—nothing fancy, but met our needs.

The Manhattan Hotel was a very good place to stay. we had no problems with the hotel itself. The area around outside the front door had some vague uneasiness with questionable characters who were on the streets with no real reason to be there.
