This property was amazing! The wood fireplace and the location on the property was just spectacular! Heidi and her husband was fantastic. We rang to say we would be there in the dark and they had the fireplace going for us so the place was nice and warm for our arrival. They even had breakfast provisions for us in the fridge and a freshly made loaf of their own bread! Could not fault our stay!

Unique property with heaps of charm and character completed with seclusion and privacy. We loved everything about this place, enjoyed being part of peaceful and relaxing nature away from everything. Strawbale cottage was perfect for us and our 2 year old. We loved exploring the property on foot searching for wildlife, seeing the farm animals, and getting a driven tour by Herbert. At night lounging in front of the fire was wonderful. Heidi and Herbert were lovely, accommodating hosts.

Whispering Spirit is a beautiful place to relax. We only had 2 nights and wish we could have stayed for longer. The Strawbale Cottage is the perfect mix of luxury and rustic charm. Will definitely stay here on our next visit to the area.

An absolute gem

We had a lovely 2 nights at Whispering Spirit cottage. Heidi greeted us warmly and allowed us to choose a loaf of her home baked bread and German fruit crumble cake to add to the other ample breakfast provisions that she had left. The straw bale cottage had lots of character and was well furnished and comfortable in a relaxing and calming garden setting on their beautiful farm with its eclectic mix of European and Australian trees. We enjoyed feeding the miniature ponies, listening to the birds, kayaking on the lake, and exploring the orchard, vegie garden and tree fern-lined creek setting. We found Franklin to be a good base for discovering the Huon Valley and will certainly recommend this lovely spot to our friends.
