Overall this was a good value. The room was clean and neat. There really aren't many amenities at a Motel 8. There was a microwave and refrigerator. Parking was easy but you need to remember that if you are on the second floor there are only stairs.

The property is mostly well maintained and quite clean. Unfortunately the TV did not work properly during the stay (a satellite dish connection issue) and maintenance did not respond to the problem during my stay. Also, the necessity of having to pay a deposit in cash ($60) was inconvenient as I do not often carry a lot of cash on me, and for most other hotels a deposit is charged to a card instead. While this fact does appear on the hotel's company (Motel 6) website, it does not appear on all 3rd party websites such as hotels.com. That issue should be addressed.

They had a $60 cash deposit needed upon check in. Kind of surprises me in this day and age they didnt allow credit card for the deposit. And we had to wait for the poor staff member to inspect the room upon check out in order to get the deposit back. They can only check one room at a time, and there was a person after me, so she had to wait. The cash was also stapled to a card with our room numbers on it. A very antiquated system, and i felt bad for the staff. This should be advertised on the site, so people can come prepared with that amount of cash during check in.

The property was hard to get to. Most GPS will route you a way that is closed. When you get to the motel, they ask for a deposit, which is understandable, but they ask for cash. This should be stated when you book a room. I had to drive out and withdraw money after finding the one way to get in. The property has speed bumps that would stop a tank. I could hear my car get damaged as I drove over them. Their TVs had some warning sign, that if you hooked up or disconnected something an alarm would be sounded to the front desk. I love Motel 6. I'm a frequent visitor, and will be, but this property felt like an institution. Again, I'm an advocate for Motel 6, and will be moving forward, but this place was not one to stay. Avoid if you can.

There’s a cash scam at this location

There was absolutely nothing wrong with the room. I would give this stay five stars. The reason I give it one star is because of their shady deposit practice. They ask for $60 cash only as a deposit. When I went to check out, they wanted to deduct five dollars from my deposit because one of the washcloths had make up on it. No, I’m not down playing my contribution to the problem. Literally, she said to me at the front desk that the housekeeping department reported to her that one of the washcloths had make up on it and that she didn’t think it would come out. Therefore, they wanted to deduct five dollars from my deposit based on the policy that says “ Any damage to the room“ would result in a fee. I don’t think I need to explain why a dirty washcloth is not a reason to deduct a cleaning deposit. After all, what in the world is a washcloth for but your face which will have makeup on it? Anyway, after much debate about what the policy actually says, room damage versus things in the room, like towels, She gave me my five dollars back. Excuse me, but what is the cost of doing business of a hotel? One of them is laundry. Gross. Also, I wonder what Motel 6 would think about a franchisee charging a cash deposit to the guests. I’m guessing that’s not part of the agreement. I could not care less about losing five dollars. What I did not like is being scammed. I made sure I wasn’t scammed.
