Luxurious hotel right next to the town centre with lots of amenities all around the area. Hotel restaurants are fantastic. The ones just outside the hotel are not so good. Terico is especially poor quality. Fantastic views from the rooms with sea view. Would love to return again

The hotel is very nice inside and out. Rooms are very spaceous and clean. The USB ports were appreciated. But beware of the pompus.

Staff were always fantastic. We loved the location as it is very close to the center of Funchal, a nice walking distance. Breakfast is also great, and the whole hotel is in excellent condition as it is quite new.

This really is a 'leading hotel of the world'. I've been privileged enough to stay in some top hotels around the world and this was one of my favourites. Pristine inside and out. The pool area is stunning. Great bars and dining options. I liked the Galaxia Sky Bar which has fantastic views. Within a very short walk there are some nice restaurants and bars around the hotel. Fantastic breakfast with a huge choice. We had one of the Ocean View rooms on the 10th floor. It's soundproof and super quiet and we weren't disturbed by any noise. Beautiful room, well appointed. I have two minor niggles which are by design. Firstly the air con turns off if you open the balcony door. This is normal but annoyingly it doesn't come back on when you close the door (you need to switch it back on manually at the wall controller). Also I like to be able to find my way to the bathroom in the night but couldn't leave a light on. This is because theres a glass wall between the shower and bedroom. The curtain covering it lets the light through from the bathroom so it's too bright to sleep (we resorted to leaving the vanity mirror turned on and pointing it in the opposite direction). The staff are super friendly and the service is excellent. We hope to return to Funchal in the future and will definitely stay here again if we do.
