My husband went to the door and spoke to the handyman when we arrived & found out he was there to fix a broken toilet flusher handle in one of the bathrooms. He also told us that we were there in the off season & won’t see anyone in the area except 2 families on a different road. After he fixed it we didn’t see him again. I never stepped foot inside both my husband and I fell outside on the steep stone steps at the 2nd step from the bottom & had to have the ambulance called to help me up. We couldn’t get ahold of the owner nor the handyman because we had no service at the location. Remote is an understatement. My daughter went to get help from a stranger and she got ahold of the owner through the stranger when I was helped up by the ambulance & got into range of signal the owner agreed to give our money back. He told us to contact you to get our money back & was told to say that he said it was ok & to talk to him. We aren’t trouble makers. We are a disabled family. The only ones who aren’t disabled are the 2 grandchildren that were with us. Both my daughters, husband, and my 2 granddaughters were up there to attend a memorial for both of my deceased parents. Unfortunately we had to head back to South Carolina & were unable to successfully attend the ceremony. Hopefully when my husband & I heal up from the injuries we received from the fall we will make a trip back up to pay our respects to my parents. Again I never got the chance to view the inside of the beautiful place.
