Lovely hotel put poor and overpriced room service

I have stayed at the Clayton Glasgow many times and have always enjoyed my stays. The rooms are clean and well appointed, the hotel is well located and the staff are friendly. I did enjoy my stay again this time, however my only criticism is that this time I ordered pizza on room service off the nighttime menu. The pizza was meant to cost £16 + £5 tray charge (so already expensive for what was a very small pizza). In the end I was charged £22.50 for an unexplained reason. I was told the order would take max 30 mins. After nearly 50 minutes it had not arrived. I called reception and was told it would be another 5-10 mins as they had a backlog. The pizza then eventually appeared. I was not offered a refund even of the tray charge which was rather disappointing all things considered.

Great hotel for your Glasgow trip

We only had the pleasure to stay one night but the hotel was well located to stroll around Glasgow City Center and have a great weekend trip. The room was very cozy and comfy and the staff was great. We will come back when we‘re back in Glasgow.

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It is gorgeous! The rooms are lovely and spacious and very clean! We stayed in the junior suite this time and it was exceptional. The staff are very friendly. Bar service is slightly slower than I'd expect but this doesnt take away from how great a hotel this is. Breakfast is lovely and a good selection available

the room is relatively small no sound proofing at all you can hear everything around you the room service doesn’t really clean your room just makeup your bed and sometimes add water and tea with coffee pods some of the night shift staff are rude and made me feel like they don’t really want to help you at all ( only one person was so rude ) the hotel it self is in a good spot near train stations and bus station u can go to malls and restaurants and other places via walking or uber or train so location wise it’s perfect morning staff are the best staff the hotel restaurant doesn’t really have much to offer small menu and if you need to order something after 10pm ( 22:00) even tho when you call them they will tell you u cant order from 9:30 till 10:00 ( 21:30-22:00) and in top of that you have to go to the hotel reception to order from the restaurant for room service ( in-room dining ) so the final evaluation for this hotel is 3.5/5 pros: - comfy bed - nice morning staff -good location near transportation cons: - no sound proofing - bad night shift staff - small menu cant order water or any other drinks after 22:00 - poor in-room dining experience - house keeping doesn’t clean just makeup the bed and sometimes add water and coffee - small rooms

The hotel is lovely and clean and all the staff were very friendly. I would definitely recommend this hotel for an overnight stay in Glasgow.

Great hotel!

The Clayton Hotel is a lovely hotel right on the river in Glasgow. Everyone I came in contact with was incredibly helpful. We were experiencing a severe windstorm in Glasgow which affected my business there. The staff gave me a space where I could meet with my customer, and all went well due to their help for which I am sincerely grateful. Highly recommend.

Check-in was nice and helpful, left case in room and room was nicely furnished, well equipped and clean. Then found red weather warning was getting worse and would not get home the following day, so just checked out and left for home. I had a non-refundable room, though thought staff might have made an effort and offered some sort of discount on future stay as I had breakfast booked for my wife and I too.

Nice, Clean Hotel

Overall nice, clean and modern hotel in central location. Only bug bear was we paid for early check-in in advance(12pm) but we noted two other parties checked in at the same time and were provided rooms without the charge for early check-in. So future lesson would be to arrive and see if the room is available rather then paying in advance, which I believe is rather unequitable.
