Booked to stay here but on the day of arrival was called by the hotel and told I’d been moved to the Ibis around the corner. Wasn’t offered an explanation or a reduced rate. (Cost £90 to book a room in the Mercure for this date, booking at the Ibis on the same day was £70). I would not recommend booking here.

Didnt get to stay as they had oversold the rooms at the Mercure, a practise that I thought was outdated. We were advised (two rooms) by phone is the afternoon that they had booked us into the Ibis Styles, whcih they also own. We had to accept as at short notice we couldn't risk not having a room. Booked a Classic Double and was given a stadard Twin (2 single beds) in the Ibis. When I checked on arrival there was a price difference of circa. £20 i.e. the Ibis was lower is cost and complained requesting the difference was refunded and they claimed that they had paid more, despite me showing proof that the rate I had on Hotels.com was £20 lower. Believe this is a scam to fill up their other lower cost hotels - would never stay again with any hotels in the group.

we stayed in the Mercure last night and upgraded our room to a Privileged one, thus gave you housecoats and slippers. The room was ok but very dated, radiator in room but a cold draft circulating the room. Shower was cold and couldn’t get it to heat up, Therefore sink tap warm dangerously hot !!! We didn’t eat there as we had plans, staff lovely and allowed us to leave our case in our room earlier

The front desk staff was fabulous. Very welcoming and helpful. But even though we got there early our room wasn’t ready until an hour after check in. We’d not slept so that was very frustrating. Also, if you need an electrical outlet near the head of your bed you are out of luck. Had to sleep with my head at the foot of the bed in order to use my cpap machine. Also no way to regulate the heat in The room. It was far too hot.
