Peaceful paradise at The Podstine

We had an amazing stay at the Podstine hotel- staff were very friendly and helpful throughout and the location is perfect if you want peace with a 20 minute walk into Hvar town for restaurants/ shops/ water taxis -one set of steps and rest on the flat promenade. Swimming was fantastic off jetty, ladders or stone steps so different options. Views were spectacular. Spa wonderful- best massages ever by Harun . Food- good and fresh and sufficient at the buffet breakfast - always topped up frequently. A fabulous place to stay for a quick relaxing break from the uk.

Had a fantastic stay at The Podstine. Excellent service from front desk to restaurant staff. Comfortable rooms, and great amenities. Would highly recommend. A beautiful 20 minute walk to town, very easy.

Having traveled extensively and staying at many hotels, I could truly tell you this was one gem of our hotel. Located approximately a mile from the Hvar town the hotel is situated directly on the Adriatic Sea. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very hospitable. The octopus was heavenly, and the preparation of the meal was also heavenly. They have a nice little pool and beach bar. For those who are brave enough to enter the Adriatic sea, there is easy access from the hotel. All in all we found the hotel to be ranked a nine out of 10. All things considered I would strongly recommend this hotel as the price is extremely reasonable and the food atmosphere and staff very accommodating.

Tired and terrible staff

The hotel is in a beautiful location, One mile from Havar Town center. Unfortunately it is tired and needs to be freshened. Worse the staff was unpleasant and made no effort to accommodate us. At check-in they said they had an upgrade available and then tried to talk us out of the upgrade. They wouldn’t give us our room even though it was available until 3pm. One person in particular at the front desk was rude. Fingers crossed if you decide to stay here you don’t end up with her at check in.

All the staff from the bar, to the reception, to cleaning was superb and incredibly helpful. Location is great, 20 minute walk along the water that feels like a 5 minute walk. Beautiful views from the hotel. And for the price it’s at it is truly unbelievable. I definitely recommend this hotel for individuals that may wish to go into the old town for a night out but also value their space from the partying.

We had an incredible stay. The location is phenomenal - about a 15 minute walk from Hvar, with the hotel being situated on the most stunning piece of the coast, making the views and swimming amazing. The views are unmatched, hotel staff are super friendly and helpful, and the bed was really comfortable. Our room had aircon too, and a fridge. We had the perfect stay here.

Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood so it’s just right if you want to be away from all the loud/blasting music by the port area. But it is a decent walk from the main area, be ready to go up and down stairs a lot if traveling between the main area and the hotel.

Firstly, the location of the property is exceptional. The views from the rooms & multi-level terracing are incredible. Beach area is great & staff in nearly all areas is good. Sadly, this could be a truly outstanding 4* property but for some frustrations. For instance, we stayed for 5 nights & the quality, quantity & supply of soaps/shampoos was poor; no tissues in the room; supply & quality of towels very intermittent & unpredictable - had to keep asking for 2hand/2 bath; room was a little tired in furnishing; shower only seemed hot for 1 & half showers. All in all felt like costs were being tightly controlled at the expense of some simple comforts. Evening food in restaurant was good except for undercooked fish on one occasion. We sent it back & it was undercooked for a second time. Generally though, bar & restaurant staff were very good & friendly. This could be a wonderful hotel. I would like to return & would hope these fairly minor but irritating issues were sorted. Feels like private equity owned milking the advantage of the location.

Facility was beautiful, right on the water. They made it so relaxing to enjoy the scenery overlooking the Adriatic with a cocktail in hand. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Best was the location. It was a twenty minute walk to Hvar Town through other beautiful homes and properties. Glad we found this hidden gem.

Fantastic hotel about 20 minutes walk into hvar town along the waters edge. A great walk and there’s restaurants hotels etc to pass on the way . Nice and quiet hotel, pool is tiny but everyone seems to sit at the sea as you have direct access to the sea. We paid for a sea view and only got a partial sea view as theres a huge palm tree growing in front of the hotel and it severely blocked our view. I asked the hotel to cut it back but the gardener has to come from Split so it’s probably still a problem. There are lots of trees in front of the hotel but this palm tree has been planted far too close to the hotel and it is coming into all the balconies at one side of the hotel. Other than the dreaded palm tree it was a fantastic hotel in a great location as we love a walk when going out for our evening meal.
