Bluey brings together raw industrial aesthetics and ergonomics with the tactics of being green and eco-friendly to forge a redesigned practical private townhouse perfect for a couple's getaway or weekend escape.
The space
Bluey is a 100-year-old + fourth-generation compact family home with a large focus on sustainability awareness, the interior includes the majority of elements from the original construction, with more than 90% of the original timbers including oak, cedar, cypress has been re-purposed and up-cycled with the addition of beech, ash, teak and Douglas fir to complete the interior and outdoor area. The interior of the house has had zero use of Volatile Organic Compounds, including all paint finishes, flooring and fixtures in its entire reconstruction. Highly friendly to asthmatics and allergen sufferers.
The house has solar generation for energy and hot water, water use has been set for a comfortable pressure and flow to reduce water consumption. Water is completely filtered with extra filtration tap provided for drinking water.
All appliances are energy efficient to provide optimum use of daily solar production, Including comprehensive fresh air ventilation system.
The house observes key green principles of smaller footprint, use of renewable resources, and living simply and minimally.
The setting of the house is private and serene, a quiet refuge from everything, free from distractions.
Perfect for design or green enthusiasts, writers or those needing a secluded quiet getaway. Subtle touches of Australian art have been added.
