Rooms are on ground level, easy parking and access. We had dinner then drove to Haast Beach just down the road and had the hot breakfast the next morning. Drove to Roaring Billy Falls and then to Jackson Bay. Had dinner again and the hot breakfast the next morning.

Heartland Hotel was a great place to stay. I really liked the sliding entrance door to the room. The room was well laid out and had a fridge, kettle and variety of teas. Buffet breakfast had eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, and the usual continental food. The bed was also very comfortable.
