This hotel is highly rated on Expedia and priced as a luxury hotel, so my expectation was high. Most of the staffs do not speak proper Japanese OR English, and they had poor attitude. Far from the standard of service quality you'd expect from a high end Ryokan.
Food was mediocre at best, with some items that must have been left outside for a few hours. We ordered a steak dinner, and though the meat seemed to be of good quality they asked us to cook on our own with this tiny candle type heating device. Since the meat was thick, it took us over ONE HOUR to cook. Because of this it took us long time to finish eating, and while our table was still full of food, we were asked if we were ready for desserts... We felt constantly rushed in several occasions. Isn't this supposed to be a relaxing resort?
I only read a few positive reviews before booking, but now after our stay I'm reading the past negative reviews and can't agree more with most of them. I wished that I read them all before booking.
