Loved the lake and sitting by the water for morning coffee. Also appreciated being able to bring our pup with us as he is elderly and we did not want to leave him with strangers.

Overall, we had a great stay at the hotel. While the furniture in our first room was a pretty worn and there was an odd odor, the staff did their best to help. They weren’t able to move us the first night, but as soon as a room became available the next morning, they found us a much better one. Which made a world of difference in our stay. The staff was friendly and eager to make things right, and Expedia was also very helpful throughout the process. We appreciated the service and ended up enjoying the rest of our stay.

The small basement pool is kept warmer than many U.S. hotel pools which makes it comfortable for kids to play without freezing. The AC blew freezing air directly on the bed in the middle of the night waking us up. Raising the temp made it too warm - so weird as it was 67F outside that night and we had the AC set at 24C.

This was my second time visiting this hotel after a great experience the first time in 2022. The rooms are clean with comfy beds. The staff are fabulous. The restaurant is lovely -- with a couple of vegetarian options on the menu. It's amazing that this hotel has access to the shoreline of Chocolate Lake, and I love having the option to sit outside and enjoy the water.

I fell in love with the lake, dining on the patio, and having breakfast was refreshing. Sitting on the lawn in the evenings, listening to my audiobook while guests swam in the lake, was also very calming. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely. I recommend this hotel as an eco-retreat.

Quick check in however the front desk agents’ personality could have been better. The property is laid out strangely with 2 wings and stairs that show up randomly on the floors. We had a luggage trolley and had to abandon it as we encountered stairs. Our room was nice however the HVAC was hard to figure out and we had an earwig in our bath. But we enjoyed our stay and the server we had in the restaurant was incredible. Also our housekeeper was great - he liked my son’s soccer jersey and shook his hand as he supports the same team!
