This could have been spectacular
This was one of the toughest reviews I’ve had to write, because there were both positives and real drawbacks.The Good:Excellent location: quiet side street but close to public transport, supermarket, and dining.Spacious house and rooms, suited our needs well.Fair price for the size.Reliable WiFi.Owner was friendly, responsive, and accommodating.The Mediocre:The house is old, as shown in the photos.Limited power outlets and storage in bedrooms.Lacked enough dishes, pots, linens, and towels for a 12-day family stay.Yard was overgrown and unusable, with no outdoor furniture.No guidance for local trash/recycling rules.The Bad:Bathroom was the biggest issue: wallpaper in the shower area, rusty towel hangers, no real storage, and poor ventilation.Bedrooms lacked proper blinds or curtains, forcing us to improvise for darkness.Random clutter throughout (unused fridge, old monitor, internet gear piled in a corner).Living room TV was unusable due to placement and cords.Kitchen lacked basic family conveniences: no microwave, tiny fridge, and limited cookware.Insufficient seating for the advertised six guests.Poor lighting setup, with some fixtures not working.Cleanliness concerns: dusty closets, questionable dishes, and stained carpets.Overall:The owner was kind and responsive, and with more care and updates, this property could be a gem. Right now, it falls short of expectations and only barely qualifies as value for money.
