Staffs are kind but noisy.. couldn't sleep well at night. They turn on music/TV all night and knock for room cleaning from 6am in the morning!

Good hotel for the money

We had a room without a window which felt a bit strange (but we were aware of this when we booked so its not a complaint). Good location right in the old quarter and only a block from the lake. Great service from the staff in the hotel who are extremely eager to assist with anything.

Hanoi Old Quarter

The location of this hotel is very good, being in the Old Quarter and easy to walk to restaurants and the Lake. The hotel needs refurbishing, the bathrooms have mold around the shower window. Breakfast was basic but OK. Overall the room was smaller than I anticipated when viewing it on the web so this was disappointing.There were no switches to turn on the bedside lamps and the plug on the kettle in the room was not for Vietnam, fortunately I had my own adopter. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to ensure we had a good vacation, the language was a bit of a problem at times but we managed in the end.

Nice room with a good location

Great hotel with equally great service! We arrived in Hanoi from Sapa via the night train at an ungodly hour of 4:10am, thankfully the hotel staff let us check in early at 8:30am which we were very grateful for! Room was clean and comfortable, it was a pleasant stay overall!

Comfortable hotel in the old quarter

Good value. Clean and comfortable. The only downside was the window which looked onto an internal wall, so the "royal view" is somewhat misleading. However this did mean that there was no street noise!

Good central location

Stayed this hotel 5 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a huge variety and good standard of food. The amenities and pool area were great. The only exception was that the gym equipment was very old and tired and not much selection. The pool facing deluxe room was large and clean but sometimes a bit musty smelling but not an issue. The free shuttle service to the old town or beach is a highlight with return trips. Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay again on our return trip.

Good location in the old quarter close to the lake

Small hotel at the edge of the shopping area in the old quarter. Room was basic, but clean although some of the towels appeared a bit stained and I had a ripped bed sheet. However, the room was noisy - not from the traffic (had a room at the back with the 'window' looking into a brick wall) - from the drilling at 7am in the morning, from people opening and closing their doors, from people using the stairs (stone stairs which echo up to all floors), from people in the adjacent room just talking or watching tv....very disturbed sleep for the 3 nights I stayed there. Typical Vietnamese building works - nothing quite fits well! Gaps between the door and frame let in the light and noise, the towel rail is on a slight angle..... Staff were helpful, booked my tours through the hotel. I also arrived at 8am and was allowed to check in early with no extra charge. Tip - book your airport transfer through the hotel. Avoids being faced with several taxi drivers/touts hastling you when you arrive. I paid $15(US) to get back to the airport in a private transfer. Although location was ok and staff were helpful, I probably would stay in a different hotel in the same general area next time.

Transfer to another hotel

We were not too happy because we were told that the hotel was fully booked and they would like to transfer us to another hotel, on the opposite side of the lake owned by the same boss. Fortunately, the other hotel was of the same status and we were at first given a room without window and with a $10 refund. We were insistent of a room with window because the room we originally booked was with balcony. Finally, the friendly staff managed to give us a room with window with a $10 refund. We hope that this incident will not happy again! As for us we were not particular about the original booking, but there are customers with who want the original hotel they booked because of some reasons. Yang CK

Exceeded my expectations totally. "pay less get more". In this case was totally hay. The staff were high performance and Very personal and breakfast included in tariff worth the cost of the room. Wifi easy to access and help with baggage upon arrival and departure appreciated. Highly recommend. And my room was more spacious than most 4 star chain hotels.
