Check in was a pleasant experience and when I asked if we could have a quiet room we were upgraded to an executive room with fridge. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We’ve stayed here on numerous occasions over the years and I’d say the breakfast wasn’t as good as usual. The dining room is getting shabby and stains on chairs off putting. To be fair a lot of guests were down for breakfast and it wasn’t so easy to choose what you wanted to eat. the food wasn’t being replenished quickly to meet demand, eg I was looking forward to fried eggs but I couldn’t wait as I’d already plated the mushrooms and bacon. I liked the gluten free cornflakes. They’re portion wrapped to fresh. Good choice of breads. We didn’t get croissants as none left at 8.00am. They might have been replenished later. Good choice of items and there are healthy options too. As usual the waiting staff are busy. They have activities to do on their phones and need to discuss with colleagues but they are always friendly when approached. I’d say breakfast is okay overall. The hotel isn’t perfect but there’s nothing that I’d want to complain about and happy to stay again.
