Freezing cold. Heating in the room didnt work, cold common areas where guests are all wearing coats and sweaters. Eco gone too Far.
Apparently my room
Was 24 Deg via there eco heating controls in reception but this clearly wasn’t working.
Stains on carpet.
What a unique and historic hotel. We enjoyed a nice quiet room with a comfortable bed and excellent bathroom/shower. The staff was very accommodating and quite friendly. We loved their wonderful breakfast. Centrally located and great parking in a very congested part of Norwich. Highly recommended and supposedly the oldest hotel in the UK.
The hotel is in a great location, easy to walk into the city or to the station. There are some great dining options around the hotel. We stayed in the Surlingham suite which was gorgeous. The view in the morning of the cathedral was fantastic. The staff could not have been more helpful, everything we asked for they accommodated. We'd definitely stay again!!!
Booked for a long weekend away. Very welcoming, friendly staff from the moment of check-in right through to checking out. Hotel location is ideal, being about 200 metres from Norwich Cathedral (Anglican) and making the town centre easy walking distance. The buffet breakfast was extensive and tasty. A complimentary 40 minute tour of the city in a vintage Bentley (weekends only) added to the whole experience.
My husband brought us here for my birthday and we stayed for one night. All the staff were very friendly and efficient. Our twin room was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had an evening meal here and the meals were exceptionally good. Breakfast was very good too. We would definitely book to stay again.
Great hotel, convenient, and as opposed to giant corporate chains has character and charm. Would return. Located in a city that deserves more attention than it gets. Great history and location
