this hotel was in the middle of china town in Saigon. Unfortunately we did not realise this until we arrived. Subsequently we found ourselves in a place of dubious activity! It wasnt very nice in the surrounding area and we were the only white tourists there. Wouldnt go there again.

Value for money

Value for money but non smoking rooms smelled of cigarettes and only lukewarm water. Staff very helpful, and good central position in Ho Chi Minh.

Neat and clean hotel at China town area.

Hotel is pitty new. Wifi works good at the entire building. Staffs are nice and very helpful. But the hotel is located at alley, not easy to found.overall the hotel price are reasonable and comfortable.

Decent stay

Pleasant but hotel location is in an alley... not too convenient... walking distance is local food fare which is decent. Hotel staffs is welcoming especially 珍 but breakfast need a lot more to desire. Free coffee and drinks and Aircon service at the lobby is welcoming. Overall still ok for money spend.

VIP room is surprisingly provided with free Vietnamese filter coffee and local style filtering cup, my favorite, and yes, in room bath, that's the only one from experiences. Although a major downside is that not so cost effective in regard to its facility level, such as, why there is not a nice and small breakfast restaurant.

Room for improvement

We stayed at this hotel to be closer to friends living in the area. Hotel is newer and in good shape however I did not like the bathroom design. There is no partition between the shower and toilet, so when guest takes a shower the toilet is all wet. There is no on-site public restaurant, limited selection breakfast is ordered from a menu. We tried to order room service but several items we wanted were not available. Staff was very nice and friendly though.

Far from the centre but everything was good, especially their staff. The aircon had problem at midnight but the staff came in a moment. We also checkednout a little bit late however they counted no fee. Ideal if you dont come there to travel.

Forced to downgrade room...

Booked & confirmed VIP room through Exp, arrived & was told all VIP room full. Spoke with manager & was told to go back to Expedia & get refund even when Exp clearly stated nonrefundable. Basically I was caught in the middle between "unaccomodating" manager & Exp nonrefundable rule. Do not book the VIP room here as it is like rolling the dice & you might not get what you are expecting but the same situation I was in. Disappointed... My downgraded room was a deluxe with 2 broken light bulb making it seems a bit cheap for being "Deluxe"...

amazing rooms, spacious, comfortable, great bathrooms, etc. However, the wifi in the hotel is absolute garbage! If you need internet, this will really drive you nuts. The hotel staff's English was very poor, and it made booking an extra night very difficult so we just did it online to spare us the trouble. The tub in one room only had hot (very hot) water from the faucet, but the overhead shower had both cold and hot so we had to mix them in order to fill the bath with a tolerable temperature water. The standup shower in the bathroom had a broken handle and I had to play with it to get it to adjust the water properly. In the second room we stayed, which was located on the bottom floor, we had two mosquitoes inside the room that ravaged my girlfriend. the area where the hotel is located is great though, and i would return to the hotel as long as I wasn't staying on the ground floor.

Disappointing

very difficult to communicate with reception staff, as English was poor. We weren't shown to our room. We carried all our own luggage. The place is located down an alley which smelled bad. The room smelled of cigarette smoke. The sheets were stained. While the inside presents reasonably well, the overall feel was that we were staying somewhere that might normally charge an hourly rate instead of a 'per night' rate.

Excellent VIP room

The VIP room was excellent. The room was clean, comfortable and had a nice spa. But the customer service was not that good. The location of the hotel was a bit hard to find as it was not on the main road. And it was a bit far from main attractions.

This hotel is new, about 3 months old, and everything is really really nice. I had a great stay in the Valentine Hotel. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. I do recommend this hotel to anyone!

Excellent hotel

The hotel it's self says it all your in luxury it felt me and my boyfriend were on our honeymoon hahaha when we first saw our room it was the VIP room which had its own bath with a shower coming out of the ceiling the location may not be in the heart of where all the tourist things to do are but it was a lot better not being handled to buy something all the time. My now fiancé and made wonderful memories here he chose to propose to me in the VIP room with a hot bubble bath and wine what a beautiful romantic thing we will defiantly come back if we are ever in oh chi Minh City again one of the best hotel I have ever stayed in loved it :)

This hotel opened in 2013 and is still pretty new. There is no spa and massage as of February 2014 . I believe on 5th floor and up are still unfinished. Friendly customer services and room pictures are described exactly as posted online. Price is dirt cheap for what you get. Only problem I have is the location which is in a 200 feet narrow deep alley. A lot of hookers on the main street which will not bother you if you ignore them. I will likely return if the price continues to be cheap.

our stay in the Valentine Hotel

our first impressions of the Valentine was ver y favourable. Modern,clean. It was a shame that we wasted so much water just to get a warm shower. Other than that the hotel was comfortable and good value for money. The staff at the hotel did not speak any English which was hard work. In a good position in area 5 to get the bus to the Mekong but not for visiting museums etc

Brand new hotel

Very clean, new & modern. Neighborhood is not so fancy, I would say hotel is 2 ranges higher than surrounding. But all Saigon is full of contrasts. Cheapest rooms does not have windows, but steal very good. Most of staff does not speak English, but for me it was not a . Close to hotel there is a big market. We would stay there again.
