Stayed here for one night in July 2025. Room and bathroom are bit small. Seems there is no ventilation in the bathroom because after we take showers at night the bathroom is still very humid in the morning. Had breakfast buffet but the selection is bit limited.

Beautiful quaint town in southern region. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice hotel within easy walking distance of harbour and restaurants. Many hotels in Iceland are overpriced and not good value, this is not one of those.

Nice place for your stay in Hofn. Everything was clean and tidy. The staff was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant was open until 11:00, so we could get a nightcap before we went to bed.

We may have just gotten a terrible room, but among the issues: it was located by the main entrance and we could hear every guest coming in and out—they would walk right by the window. The bathroom window was only partially glazed for privacy, with no curtains so it felt a little exposed. The blackout blinds didn’t fully cover the bedroom window and sun was coming in all night. The bathroom door didn’t close properly and the sink didn’t drain. I could go on, but all to say, it wasn’t the most pleasant hotel.

Good place for overnight

Free parking, though the car park filled up in evening and had to park in unmarked area (checked ok with reception). The hotel has several buildings so don't unload vehicle until checked in. Their website does warn you about no elevators in the main building. The room was fine for a night. Bed comfortable and black out curtains that covered the window!! Bathroom is a little tight with old style shower curtain and bath combination but no problem for us. Breakfast was a reasonable range of items. The staff were very efficient in cleaning and clearing tables whilst ensuring items didn’t run out. Hofn has several places to eat in addition to the hotel restaurant and a couple of fuel stations for topping up.

Nice stop

Out of all the places we stayed in Iceland, these had the best beds for our comfort. Came with tons of pillows also which was nice. The room was clean and had a school nearby, so we were able to take our toddler to play and a nearby grocery store for snack stop.

Cut myself on metal edging on the wall. Wrote an email to the property manager. They did not bother to reply. In addition, the room was small and there were insects (beetles?) on the floor. Terrible property for the price.

Dated hotel, poor customer service bedroom that smelt of open drains. Bathroom has no window there were two exposed drains within the prefab bathroom unit comprising one tiny shower, toilet and sink, not big enough for two people to be in at the same time. To make matters worse, the bathroom smelt rotten which flowed into the bathroom making the sleeping uncomfortable . Receptionist was not interested and just confirmed it can happen when temperature are warmer than expected! No apology for discomfort, pictures shown did not reflect the room we stayed in. We were in Iceland on a road trip for 7 days this hotel was the lowest standard we experienced representing terrible value for money as we stayed in more competitive priced hotel with a far nicer accommodation standard!
