Very good
All reviews shown are from real guest experiences. Only travellers who have booked a stay with us can submit a review. We verify reviews according to our guidelines and publish all reviews, positive or negative.
Our initial room was a cosy double which was mostly clean. There wwre cobwebs still hanging from the corners of the ceiling and the buttons on the radiator has been peeled to make it hard to use. The sink had some grime by the plug but it was ok. A few hours into our stay, the CEILING WAS LEAKING. It started slow and got gradually quicker. I reported this to reception who suspected it was due to the hot tub above us and she said she would go there first and then come to us. When she came to us, she explained the hot tub above had been overfilled and "it would be fine and stop soon" but we could move rooms if we wanted. During this time it got significantly worse so we of course asked to move. We were moved to an identical room across the hall which had a worse view of parked cars rather than the courtyard otherwise it was the same. We were given a voucher for two glasses of prosecco "for being so understanding" which was not useful as I do not drink for repigious reasons but i didnt want to embarass her by saying this. I had hoped a reasonable compensation would have been an upgrade, a meal, or spa therapy/access. In our new room, the only issue was a very low pressure shower which was not reported as we already moved once and were tired. We also had dinner in the Glasshouse; Very lovely, very tasty food and lovely staff, fairly high quality without a heavy cost. We paid for an hour in the spa later which was nice but the steam room and one area of the hydro pool didnt work

Unfortunately even the more basic spa access was fully booked despite there being availability online on their site. I paid for breakfast in advance but there was no record on their side and I was being asked for a receipt before I left. Having to show my bank statements as proof for an admin error seemed unusual.
Dining hit and miss. With dinner at the main restaurant being great quality, but the pub food available being of low quality and frozen or sub par products.
Cooked breakfast was Tesco café level
Everything else was great. Staff were truly their best!!
We loved the spa and the quietness hotel was clean some area’s looked tiered windows in particular condensation pooling water on sills staff very friendly and happy to help bistro food was nice but very small portions overall we had a relaxing experience
Not a double bed as stated two singles put together with being disabled due to back problems couldn't sleep staff were great

Overall we had a great stay , if you’re interested in the spa or just using the pool you have to book a slot , as only 12 people at a time can use it , so book your spot , facilities are good , breakfast was not very big but well cooked and tasty , and I think the bar is a little expensive, but it’s a 4 star hotel so you kind of expect it . The hotel is miles better than anywhere near from what I seen and the staff were all very friendly
Wi-fi very poor and unable to connect with NHS site. Netflix and Prime not connected. Evening meal in the bar but at restaurant prices. Bar staff very friendly. Reception desk very helpful and amenable and extremely knowledgeable.
No heating in our room ( they did sort portable heaters but we had to ask twice ) Reception staff nice all other staff seemed miserable and did not engage , never asked once if evening meal or breakfast was ok by staff , very overpriced for what it is , evening meal was just ok but breakfast was terrible , had better in a premier inn or travel lodge , coffee out of the machine was disgustingly bad ( no fresh coffee ) bar staff in the evening did not know what an Irish coffee was and then tried to charge £24 for two . The spa was not included in our room which was not stated at booking , it would have cost another £20 to use the so called pool but it was more like a hot tub not a pool . Not the best would not go again .
I loved the stay at the Wild Pheasant. Whole feel of the hotel was lovely. Decor , cleanliness , location and service all superb.
Fantastic meal on saturday night.
Everything excellent BUT BEWARE
YOU NEED TO BOOK THE SPA IN ADVANCE.
I expected as a hotel guest that you can use the spa anytime, not so, you have to book ahead.
Major disappointment as we wanted to use it the day of our departure, this was the main attraction of this hotel, very sad departure.
I feel that the staff should ask when you book if you would like to book a slot just as most hotels do for the restaurant.

4 stars? Really?
Great location, pleasant staff, but not quite Travelodge class: standard room clean, fairly comfortable; old single-glazed windows, and heating switched off most of the day. A/C is a fan; flat pack furniture; tatty units in an otherwise reasonably modern shower room (no bath); loo roll somewhere behind your right elbow. WiFi reception only near our door. Spa is extra (first hour free if book direct).
